Do not purchase if you like to chew coffee grounds. I needed a personal "french press" for work, this seemed like it would be perfect. The grounds come thru every time. You also need to fill it with quite a bit of coffee for one cup so that the strainer part will actually hit the grounds.

These are so convenient. I got one as a gift about five years ago and eventually bought myself a second one because I liked having an extra in case I forgot it at work or in the car. It’s super convenient to be able to press your coffee on the run - no need to wait for it to finish brewing or to have more complex brewing equipment.

Ok Bodum. The press part of the Bodum does go down far enough, in my opinion, so it makes less coffee. Make good coffee, though.

Bodum Travel Press - Doesn't Work Properly
31 January 2017

The press doesn't work properly. It doesn't keep the loose tea leaves from entering the liquid above the press. When I purchased this online, it appeared that the container was metal, but it was hard plastic. It did not specify.I bought this for someone as a Christmas gift and I also bought one for myself. I was very disappointed in the product quality, particularly since it comes from a well known brand name like Bodum. I am very disappointed and will be returning the two that I bought.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!
7 July 2017

DO NOT BUY THIS!!! The screen on the press does not filter the grounds properly so you end up with a cup of coffee full of grounds. And it wasn't just like a few stray grounds....like half of the grounds you put in there end up not getting filtered out...my cup of coffee was undrinkable. I thought Bodum was a good company; i had a mini glass french press from them that i loved and worked great but it broke so i bought this travel mug press to replace it and i was highly disapointed. It is absolutely useless, do not waste your money!

Good coffee, does not break if dropped
23 July 2018

Good french type coffee when used with adapted coffee grounding. Plunger could be longer, since some coffee is 'lost' even with the plunger fully down. Only time will tell if the plastic is durable. Very important for my application, cannot break if dropped.

Great product

This product is of high quality, easy to use and traps all loose tea leaves or course coffee hounds. Due to the double insulated feature the beverage remains hot for a long time. It is easy to hold and the silicone band around the cup stops ones hand from any burns. Highly recommend this product.

Never expected such an awfully designed and made product.

I paid the "Bodum price" as I thought more expensive will be better quality- sooo disappointed- the travel press feels cheap, double walls do not keep your drink hot for more than a normal ceramic mug ( I've timed it) and the worst- the press( the sieve attached to the lid) does not go all the way down but stops about an inch from the bottom of the cup. This makes about a quarter of your drink undrinkable. The liquid doesn't go through the sieve when you tip the cup and you end up wasting it or having to take the lid off and attempting to drink whilst trying to avoid filling your mouth with brewed tea or coffee waste. Disgusting! Awful product! Doesn't deserve even 1 star. I am so annoyed and upset with this purchase! AVOID

Not what I thought I was buying.

This is a good looking little coffee press that comes with a different lid. It is comforatble to hold. However, it is plastic - I thought it would be glass as most coffee presses are. The plunger part wont go down far enough so a lot of coffee is wasted (other reviewers observe this too). I was initially looking for something that keeps coffee hot. Yes, it stays hot but not for long. Still drinkable but I like mine piping hot. Ill continue to use it but still looking out for something better that might not look as good.

Proper coffee on the go!
16 June 2017

This is better than expected, I've read reviews in the past of travel mugs with coffee press in built and they put me off! Then found good reviews for this one and am not disappointed! The plunger doesn't go all the way down and about a 1/5 of the liquid stays beneath which I thought would come through when tipped - the mesh and seal on the plunger is that good that it doesn't! Ok so you lose 1/5 of the liquid in your coffee, but good to know that if liquid can't get through then the coffee definitely can't get through so you aren't going to get a mouthful of ground coffee! Also comes with a regular lid if you fancy just using it for instant coffee or what not
