Good but delicate. As other reviewers mentioned the glass beaker can come loose and be dropped, but this seems to be the standard design in French Press Coffee Makers. What I was looking for was a solid one with a good screen that wouldn't leave me with a coffee grind filled cup. Another requirement is that the press stays up on it's own and allows the coffee to brew without agitation. This one definitely does the job so far. I've used it every other day for a few weeks and the screen seems to be holding up well and the press stays up on it's own. I love the fact that the screen mount unscrews for easy cleaning. I highly recommend it.

I’ve had a bunch of no name French presses. The glass is more durable and so is the Handle and screen. French press is one of the best ways to make coffee because it allows the natural oils in the coffee to no be removed by the filter. I recommend using corse ground coffee. It a little pricer then others but that is because you pay for quality. I have had cheap ones where the screen frays and the handle becomes loose or the glass breaks easily. This one hands down is more durable.

This has been my standard way to brew coffee for the past several years. Better than any drip coffee maker, and easier to use than a pour over (which I love when I have the time). But for every day use, this makes a fantastic cup of coffee. My only issue is that after a few uses the screws that hold the mesh plunger and filter together loosen, and if I'm not careful to tighten them each time, it has come apart in the carafe, making a mess of my coffee. Overall though a great product that I continue to use.

If you've never had a cup of French Press coffee, let me tell you what you're missing. It's an uncomplicated, delicious way to enjoy your cup of Joe. This French Press is an excellent value for a great little coffee maker. Don't be intimidated by the word "French" in the title. It was a French invention that is actually rather simply to use. First, this little coffee maker comes with a coffee scoop. This allows you to choose the strength of your coffee. You simply place the grounds into the carafe, pour hot water over the top to your desired amount of cups (this size will yield two average American coffee mugs' worth of coffee), then give them a good stir before placing the lid on. Do not plunge your press all the way down just yet, though. You want to allow the hot ... MoreIf you've never had a cup of French Press coffee, let me tell you what you're missing. You want to allow the hot water and coffee the chance to dance a bit, between 4 to 7 minutes is pretty ideal, then plunge down the plunger to cover the grounds and pour into your cup. The first thing you'll immediately notice with a good French press is how easy it is to enjoy great tasting coffee. The time it steeps gives it a chance to release the oils of the coffee bean thereby also releasing a better tasting cup than brewed in an electric coffee maker and richer than a pour-over set up which always includes a paper filter which traps some of the flavor the oils produce. This product does a great job of achieving all of the above. As tempting as it may be to re-use coffee grounds, remember they are really only going to be good for one use. Throw them into your compost heap if you don't wish to waste them. One tip about grinding your own coffee, use a coarse grind to really take advantage of your French press. A finer grind sometimes allows little bits of coffee grounds to escape through the mesh of some coffee makers which disrupts the experience. I will say, however, that even with a regular bag of Starbucks coffee picked up from a grocery store already ground, I did not see this problem. The mess on this pot is pretty good about keeping out the undesirable bits and only giving you what you want--great tasting brew. Cleaning most French presses is not super-hard, but also not always simple. To make my life easier, I just toss mine into the the top rack of the dishwasher (yes, this FP is dishwasher-safe) thus avoiding having to bend and maneuver the mesh screen. This can cause warping if handled too aggressively which allows grounds to seep out during the brewing process. The less you try to manipulate the screen, the longer this product is likely to last. I've enjoyed this press for a few weeks now and had zero complications in achieving coffee nirvana. It really does it's job. If you are looking for something to hold the hot coffee in in between cups, I suggest an insulated mug or carafe. That is the downfall of most French presses, but it doesn't mean the challenge cannot be smartly met. I really recommend this product for it's price, durability, and easy operation.
I've no idea how this is considered large enough to hold two cups of coffee, let alone 3. I am using an uncustomary 3 oz. cup whilst on my holiday in the mountains and I barely get 2 cups from a given process. I can only guess one would be expected to use demitasse-size cups to achieve three servings of coffee from this press. It is nicely designed, visually, but seriously curious in its actual capacity for servings. Any guests joining me for coffee would need to be cutting drastically down on caffeine or wind up deeply diapointed with the resulting stingy serving.
This model costs less than just a replacement beaker, which is what I needed since I broke one recently. Love French press coffee and it works well. Minus one star because the plastic frame is too lightweight and doesn’t hold the beaker, making me nervous while pouring and washing. I replaced it with my old frame so am happy! It’s all interchangeable.
I had a french press pot that broke that was good for making a single-size cup of coffee. I was impressed by the look of this French Press so I got it in the gold/glass 8-cup size because I know the smaller size will not make a 12 oz cup pour. The quality of the pot is good and will last me a while provided I don't drop it. I like using a French Press that is transparent glass versus one that is not. The only thing missing and not the fault of the pot's design is a french press filter to keep the grinds out of the poured coffee. That's another reason I got the larger pot to not have to deal with the grinds falling into the poured coffee.
As a newly recent coffee drinker, this was my first coffee maker I’ve bought. I knew me buying at the coffee shop would add up, so after looking up reviews I settled on this one, and love it! I use this to make cold brews, and so far have had no issues. It’s easy to use and I’ve had no problems with coffee grinds coming through nor any broken parts, I make sure to handle it carefully, and on the plus side, it’s very beautifully designed.
The product I received is very good. Unfortunately, it was not what I ordered. I chose this particular French Press because of the way it was described on the Williams Sonoma website. It is as advertised, almost. It is supposed to be 3 cup capacity. That's 24 ounces. The press they sent me holds 12 ounces when filled to the top. A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. The only reason I didn't return it is that I waited 3 months for it to be shipped to me. I didn't feel like reordering and waiting another 3 months. Williams Sonoma said they couldn't do anything to help me because this product is shipped from the manufacturer. Unhappy with the whole experience of Williams Sonoma.
Makes great tasting coffee.it's necessary to make sure water is super hot before adding coffee grounds. Allow apx. 3 to 5 minutes to steep. Then add cream and sugar if desired. I use Bailey's Irish Cream for a yummy and exciting taste. yum yum☕😋
