I'm super happy with this Panasonic 4K Blu Ray Player so far! I can play all my favorite discs and the picture quality and sound is really great! It did not include an HDMI cable, so you will need to already have one on hand, but besides that, you were good to go. I'm really excited that this blu ray player gives me the ability to watch 3D movies, too (as long as your tv is able to play them as well). This player is really user friendly and performs flawlessly every time. One thing I'd change about this player would be that I wish there were more buttons on the front of it. Another thing is, the remote is very tiny and it makes it hard to comfortably use it. I think it definitely could have been at least twice as big. Overall, it has been a great player that fits my needs well, without being over complicated.

This unit is extremely light weight and covers just the basics. You can play Blu Rays, DVDs, CDs, and look at photos. It has only 4 ports: power, USB, LAN (Ethernet), and HDMI. Ethernet is used to update the device’s firmware, but if you don’t want to hook it up that way, you can load the firmware update file onto a USB and install it.I was disappointed to see that the default wallpaper and user interface is extremely low res and looks poor and pixelated. I tried to find a 4K image that would look clean on my 55” tv that I could set as the player’s wallpaper, but still found artifacts on the images. The player itself is rather noisy - I would compare it to an original PlayStation or Dreamcast when it boots up and attempts to read a disc. If you need something basic to watch movies on and it fits your budget, this will do that, but if you’re sensitive to sound or want something with more polish, you’ll want to look elsewhere.

I have this 3D tv for like ever. It just sit in the living room after having kids. Decided to brush up the system, put batteries in the glasses and get this Blu-ray player to enjoy some 3D content. After hooking everything up (only 2 wires, lol) and got The Terminator 3D Blu-ray trio (3D/2D/DVD), I compared the 3. Of course I demo the 3D first and it was clear, detailed and awesome! The 2D is exactly the same without 3D. Hehe. I was a little disappointed in the dvd (to be expected at only 480 resolution compare to 4000). It’s not really noticeable at the couch. It did upscaled the resolution and it’s not blurry but it’s not crystal clear when compared to the Blu-ray. I am very happy with this Blu-ray player. The upscaling from this player makes it watchable but again no where compare to Blu-ray. The player itself is sleek and minimalistic. The only 2 buttons, power and eject, are hidden on top and only a led, ir, USB port and disc tray in front. All blacked out. When you turn on the unit you’re greeted with a nice Home Screen also accessible by the home button on the remote. If you put a disc in, it will auto play the disc. The remote is easy to use, not too much to it but needed for full operation. All in all highly recommended.

The HDR support further enhances the viewing experience, providing deeper contrast and more realistic colors, especially on compatible HDR-enabled TVs.The player’s performance is commendable, with quick load times and minimal buffering during playback. I noticed little to no noise during operation, ensuring an uninterrupted movie-watching experience.Additionally, the Panasonic 4K Blu Ray Player Ultra supports various audio formats, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, providing immersive surround sound that truly enhances the cinematic experience. The audio output is crisp and clear, allowing me to enjoy my favorite movies with excellent sound quality.

Nice little UHD 4K player
29 June 2023

I recently added a surround sound system to my 4K TV but there really aren’t many 4K HD quality movies available through streaming services and most of the movies don’t support Dolby Atmos surround sound. So I figured it was time I got a 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray player to really take advantage of my home theater system. Now, honestly, 1080 Blu-ray is sharp enough for my taste on my 65” TV, but it’s nice to have 4K capability to take advantage of my 4K TV, so of course I needed a 4K player, but what I’m also interested in is the Dolby Atmos surround sound that is coming through the Blu-ray. I picked up Ready Player One in Blu-ray and Alita in 4K. Watching Ready Player One is great. The sound quality is really amazing. With the Dolby Atmos sound coming through the blu ray you can hear objects traverse from one corner of the room diagonally to the other, and the imagery was so sharp that I forgot that that disc wasn’t 4K. Next up was Alita, which I got in 4K ultra HD on sale. The imagery is crazy sharp. With sharpness like this, you can have a really large screen or sit really close and not see any pixels. This little player does everything I need it to. It’s lightweight and compact. What’s great about this player is that I can play regular Blu-ray discs that cost much less than 4K HD discs but have the best quality sound, and I can also play 4K movies for those certain movies that I really want the highest clarity possible or maybe for the movies that I find on sale in 4K. I like having that option. As for the technicalities of this player, it comes with a power cord that is specific for this player, and a remote control with batteries. You need to provide your own high-speed HDMI cable. And make sure you get at least a 4K@60Hz HDMI cable but you’re better off getting a 4K@120Hz which is also referred to as 8K@60 Hz. These are both high-speed HDMI‘s, and they’re practically the same price so I would always just get the highest capability which is 4K@120 Hz (or 8K). That way if you upgrade your TV, your cables won’t hold you back. This player is controlled almost entirely by the remote control. There is a USB jack and an IR receiver in the front, and a power light. On top front right side, there is a power button, and a play button which also opens the disc player when you press it if there isn’t a disc already inside. So if you don’t have the remote control you could play a movie but you wouldn’t be able to fast forward or rewind anything. There is an ethernet port in the back for updates but no Wi-Fi. It’s pretty much a bare-bones ultra HD player which is really fine for me because this is just an input source into my main receiver. Which brings up another point, this is just a player. This doesn’t have any extra speaker ports. There’s no optical output or RCA jacks. Besides the Ethernet port, there is a single A/V HDMI output port on the back and that’s it. Optical doesn’t support HD sound anyway. It’s a good little UHD 4K player.

Panasonic 4K Blu-Ray Player, Ultra HD Premium Video Playback and Hi-Res Audio – DP-UB150-K offers many audio/Video options in a compact size. On the video front, it offers 480P, 720P, 1080i, 1080P and 4K resolutions which with compatible TVs would offer a sharp image display. On the Audio front, it offers high resolution digital audio options that are meant to work with your digital audio equipment to offer a crisp sound quality. The set up was quick and simple. It literally took less than 5 minutes. You plug one end of the HDMI cable into your TV and the other into the player. Pop a disc in the player, select your input channel on your TV and you’re ready to enjoy your movie. However, initially, like any other player, it’s set to the default audio and video settings. So, if you’re not pleased with those, you’ll need to navigate to the Setup screen and change the settings to your liking. As with any digital equipment, you would need to have some knowledge about each of the audio and video options offered to get the best ones available and compatible with your TV and sound system. Getting to and navigating the settings was not complex. Just select the SETUP tab on the home page (once you turn the player on).The player also has a USB port that allows you to listen and view your audio and video files (pictures, movies and songs) by simply connecting your device via USB cable.Although this compact player comes loaded with many digital audio and video marvels, you will not notice much difference in your viewing experience if you don’t have digitally advanced equipment such as HD or 4K enabled TVs or High resolution surround sound system. I used it with my current non HD or 4K TV and did not notice a change. This is not a criticism of this device; just to set the expectations (may not be for you if you don’t have a modern TV/sound system). What I was not pleased with is that this unit only offers an HDMI audio/Video output, so if you have a surround sound system with an ARC output (red, white and yellow connections) or individual speaker cables, you’ll definitely need to get an ARC/HDMI adaptor or an audio receiver. If your TV has an HDMI port, you’re safe. Also, the HDMI cable is not included with the player, you’ll need to use your existing one or buy a new one.As far as Wi-Fi connection, the player comes with an LAN port for an Ethernet cable (not included), but browsing the settings, I could not find a wireless connection option. The only available buttons on the player are the power and Eject buttons, but you can use the compact remote for the other options. In Summary, this DVD/Blu-ray player comes with many advanced audio/video features which would deliver the best experience with an HD/4K TV or high resolution enabled audio system, but it is not a good fit for older TVs/audio equipment (you’ll need to invest in HDMI adaptors or an audio receiver).

I have been using this Panasonic Blu-ray player for almost two weeks now and I really like it! I really appreciate the simplicity of it, and ease of use. I like that it is sleek, black and modern looking and doesn’t take up much space on our entertainment center as well. I was super easy to hook up and use. I don’t normally hook up the electronics in the house and I was able to have it up and working in less than 2 minutes. It did require an HDMI cable, which is not included but thankfully we already had one, so no big deal. The user interface is also very simple to use as well. It’s basic, but it has all the features for my needs. As far as video quality and sound quality it’s perfect, no complaints. Very high quality and crisp. The only things I don’t like about this player is that the open/close and power buttons are on the top of it instead of the front. We usually stack our electronics on the entertainment center so I don’t care for the placement of the buttons. Lastly, it does have Internet capabilities for firmware updates and for up to date blu ray commercials but it requires an Ethernet cable. Which is yet another cable to add behind the tv. I do wish it were wifi instead. Overall though, I’m really satisfied with this and I don’t have any major complaints!

A compact remote control, 2x's AA batteries, and a power cord, were all included. However, there is not an HDMI cable nor an ethernet cable included. I had a 4K HI-RES HDMI cable, on hand already, that worked great, as well as ethernet cable. I do recommend that you use high-quality cables for a better visual and audio experience.Impressed at how easy the set up process, from start to finish, was. Easy as simply connecting and plugging in the power cord, followed by the 4K HDMI cable, and lastly attaching the ethernet cable to my home's router. On screen displays simple set-up steps, that we found helpful, to follow. These steps included an option to search for any firmware updates, that may be needed. This update was quickly done in a matter of minutes, without interruption.Owning this device has added an expensive appearance, without breaking my home entertainment budget. Great quality for a mid-level price point that performs amazingly, easy to control and provides excellent visual and audio. Standard DVD's are upscaled, Blu Ray's are highly upscaled and 4K HD movies are magical!Overall, I think this Panasonic 4K Blu Ray Player, Ultra HD Premium Video Playback and Hi-Res Audio - DP-UB150-K is one of the better Blu Ray players that my family and I have owned. Highly Recommended and large family approved for viewing experiences thats almiat unbelievable its so great!

Works perfectly for non blu ray DVDs too!

The Panasonic 4K Blu Ray Player, Ultra HD Premium Video Playback and Hi-Res Audio - DP-UB150-K has actually pretty nice. I have a bunch of DVDs that I haven’t watched in years and I don’t feel like purchasing them when they aren’t on streaming apps because I already own them. This DVD player has been great. It was super easy to set up, all I had to do was plug it in and it was pretty much ready to go. You do need to have your own HDMI cable to hook it up to your tv though because it does not come with one. The remote that comes with this DVD player is easy to use and the buttons are easy to see. I also like that this DVD player remote comes with its own batteries. I was able to use non blu ray DVDs in this DVD player which was great! The actual DVD player feels a little cheap because it’s so lightweight but it really works well. I also like how slim it is because it fits perfectly underneath my tv and I don’t have to worry about a huge brick taking up a lot of room on my tv stand.
