Bioderma is my favorite micellar water. I have already tried all the lines of this micellar water. I really like the blue one and this pink one. I buy them regularly, alternating them periodically. My skin is oily. And it is this micellar water, with a pink cap, that is claimed for oily facial skin. And my favorite is the one with the blue cap, it’s for sensitive skin. I apply micellar water to a cotton pad and wipe off my makeup with gentle movements. She does an excellent job with eye makeup, even the most persistent ones. Perfectly removes tone from the face, leaves nothing unnecessary. I make sure to wash off all micellar water from my face with my favorite facial foam. Her face is squeaky clean. I wanted to try this product for a very specific purpose, I have been looking at facial cleansing wipes to use occasionally at bedtime instead of stripping my face by doing a full wash with cleanser and water. I rarely wear makeup, I spend my energy on finding the best skincare products for my skin and sunscreen. I’m still kicking myself because I’m a vet tech and should have known better. I KNEW this had xylitol but I thought there was no way it contained enough to be an issue because it wasn’t one of the first ingredients. Even my vet was in disbelief that a few licks would be enough to poison a small animal, but they were. Luckily my cat made it through with same-day treatment and monitoring for the next several days, but I’m still blown away. As for quality, I give it one star for containing a well-known dog/cat toxin. And for value I’d also give it one star given the cost of treating xylitol toxicity, which can even necessitate hospitalization. Not good! ***The story: So I went to bed after using this micellar water one night, and my cat came and licked my face about 2 hours later, which woke me up. She doesn’t typically lick my face out of the blue so, again, I stupidly thought the xylitol in this wouldn’t be an issue. Within a couple hours, my girl began acting lethargic and even a bit unsteady on her feet, so I tested her blood sugar (she’s diabetic, but she’s not insulin-dependent and is just on a specialized diabetic food). Instead of being too high, which is more typically the problem in diabetic animals, her blood sugar was slightly lower than usual. Remembering that this has xylitol in it, I began to wonder of she could have been affected but was still in disbelief that she could get enough to develop toxicity from just a few licks. I work at a veterinary clinic, so I brought her to work with me just in case but even her vet thought she couldn’t have gotten enough to be a problem but to just keep her under observation for the day. Unfortunately, her blood sugar continued to drop even after being fed non-diabetic food all day and eventually glucose paste, which had no effect instead of making her blood sugar sky high like it should for a diabetic patient. She pulled through with aggressive fluid therapy, blood sugar tests every couple hours, overnight monitoring for the first 24 hours, and blood tests to monitor her liver values for three days. Please learn from my mistake and use a different product. Don’t be dumb like me and fool yourself into believing it won’t be an issue.

Good product but not cruelty free

This product has to be shaken before use to activate it then poured into a cotton pad or reusable makeup pad. It seems a bit oily at first but it doesn’t leave an oily residue like similar products I have used, and you don’t have to rinse it off either.I have used it on my whole face to remove makeup or just as a cleanser and it feels gentle in my skin and leaves it feeling nice and fresh and clean. I did find that it didn’t remove waterproof eyeliner and mascara as easily as the rest of my make up and I had to scrub reasonably hard to completely remove these products.There is no strong fragrance, which is good.
