This brand has always been a good alternative to doing it the old fashioned way but without the hassle of having to buy all the ingredients and this is better than ordering a personalized cake or buying a pre made one. We love this brand however the cake is supposed to take 20 to 30 mins to cook on a lower temperature once you had preheated the oven however I cooked it on the recommended preheat temperature of 325 and preheated the oven at 475 instead but yet even though it was preheated and then I cooked it at 325 instead of 300 like it said, it still took over an hour to just cook one. Which honestly would take the same amount of time to prep and bake one if youd want to make it the old fashioned way from scratch. I think next time I may just make it homemade ... I bought this cake mix as I fancied baking some carrot cake cupcakes but didn't feel like buying all the individual ingredients to make them. I chose this one as it's a well-established brand. All you have to do is add eggs, oil and water to the cake mix and mix together - that's it! Bake as instructed and they come out perfectly. The carrot pieces are very small which makes for a nice even texture within the cake and there are no raisins. This will be a regular purchase for whenever I fancy a treat. I also added the cream cheese frosting which I bought separately. Bought on offer.

I don't normally buy box mixes but I do like a bit of carrot cake and it's nice to try new things so thought we would give it a go as Daddy's birthday was coming up and this allowed the children to bake with just a little supervision. Firstly it was easy to make with only a few steps - just measure out and add extra ingredients, which the children did with ease. It only took about 25 minutes to bake. Once decorated we served it up and to our delight this cake was pretty much perfect! This cake mix works for both children and adults - the box is appealing and instantly recognisable as a trusted brand - my toddler wanted to make them as soon as he saw it (and so did I!). The front of the box is very clear and tells you exactly what you need to supply (just an egg,water,oil and icing) and how many portions you'll make. The instructions were clear, the carrot cake mix is fairly smooth, and the cakes rose well. The frosting was easy enough for a three-year-old to make, and the simple construction made it a fun bake for an afternoon with the family. Very tasty, soft and indulgent too. I'd buy this again.

It is nice though and doesn't taste artificial. You certainly wouldn't guess it was a box mix. I like that you can make a big cake or cupcakes with it. I did find it took linger to cook than the stated times but possibly because they expected you to split the mix between two sandwich tins, but it really wasn't clear. I love baking and have a reputation amongst friends and family for my quality cakes. I was therefore hesitant to use a cake mix, thinking the convenience would somehow negatively effect the result - I was wrong! This mix produced a deliciously light and I’ve got to say, incredibly moist cake which I was really happy to serve up - and I got a whole load of compliments for! Being asked for the recipe, I was confident to say it was Betty Crocker! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cake mix! I purchased this on special offer and it was a really good deal.
This is really handy to have on hand for last minute cake when you've run out of flour. Had to make one last minute for my grandsons birthday. It was one of the best cakes I have made (I usually make my own). I followed the instructions but added milk instead of water and some extra vanilla essence. The cake was fresh tasting and everyone loved it adults and children alike. There wasn't a slice left. I was surprised how lovely it was myself, it really was very moist and fresh tasting cake.

The actual cake making was very straightforward and easy to follow with my 4 year old being very pleased with the quick results. When my daughter got home both kids had great fun decorating the cakes with an assortment of sprinkles we had in the cupboard.
