Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar Clarify Shampoo 300 ml

The only reason I didn’t is because it’s often out of stock, so I was SO happy to be able to trial this!First thing, I love the packaging, which is classic Aveeno packaging, but the colour selection and graphics are very relevant to the Apple Cider Vinegar range. The third item on my list is how does it make my hair feel/look after. The first time I used this shampoo and conditioner, my hair was really static-y the following day. I assumed that was due to the “clarifying” quality of the apple cider vinegar and it was a bit of a concern for me as I had to take extra care of my hair, using a hair oil to combat the static. But it was just that first use and I haven’t had any trouble with excessive static since. My hair feels really clean and my blonde looks brighter after I use this shampoo. I also tend to get a bit of scalp itch and this shampoo seems to help with that. I’ve found washing with this apple cider vinegar shampoo every second wash, alternating with a hydrating shampoo, is a good combo for me to keep my hair feeling and looking nice. Another great product from Aveeno, which is a brand I’m very fond of. I’d say if you are looking for a clarifying shampoo or are just curious how apple cider vinegar might help boost your hair care game, this is definitely one you want to try - especially if you want to boost your blonde (natural blonde, as I’m not sure this is a colour-safe product), definitely give this one a go.

I will start off by saying, I have tried almost every single drugstore shampoo and conditioner combo possible it seems, so I have a lot of background on drugstore shampoo. I was hoping this would be my saving grace because I still have yet to find one that truly works on containing the oil. Well, I can say that this did just the opposite. My hair got oily FAST. Loved the feel and smell! I didn’t really know much about Aveeno I hair products before being sent 3 full sized products of shampoo (2 bottles) and conditioner ( 1 bottle). I was impressed with the packaging and the natural theme continuing off of their “oat” brand with their moisturizers. This particular shampoo I’m reviewing was for clarifying your scalp and hair! It felt almost minty cool. It smelled INCREDIBLE, and had a great foam up feeling going from scalp to ends. My hair feels amazing and smooth right after washing and I love running my fingers through my hair in between shampoo and conditioner. What I loved most about Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo was it had a great scent. I used it in combination with the apple cider vinegar blend conditioner and it was great. It does not smell like apple cider vinegar but has a very pleasant scent. It leaves your hair shiny post wash and dentangled. Apple cider vinegar has many benefits so I was very happy with this new blend and so far my hair feels and looks great. I also liked that the product was free of sulfates, dyes, and parabens as this is what I usually look for in a shampoo since I don’t like harsh chemicals on my hair/scalp. This product felt soothing on my scalp and my hair felt nourished. I will definitely be repurchasing.

First let’s start with the pros. I gave this shampoo 2 stars because I love the smell, the apple cider aroma is very warm and inviting. I also found this shampoo has a very rich lather which I enjoy. Now on to the cons, this shampoo while immediately after showering leaves my hair feeling clean, it does not fight oily hair at all. I wash my hair in the mornings typically, and by the evening of the first day I could feel my hair getting greasy. By the next morning (day 2) it looked greasy as well. I have a dry scalp but oily hair and this is not a good shampoo for me. The shampoo clarifies my scalp, and leaves it feeling extra squeaky clean, but does not work well with my hair. I may use this once every 2 weeks for a good scalp refresh.

Great product line, I normally don’t use the Aveeno brand unless for skincare on myself and kids but I was very surprised by how well this stuff works! It smells great, the color matching of the packaging is eye catching to the name of the product! I do feel like the clarifying part may be too much for certain hair types. I did not have an issue with this personally but I did try it on my daughter who’s hair is much more fine than mine is and it was like I stripped every last oil left in her hair. Just top it off with the complimenting conditioner to the set and your hair should be in its best condition!

I decided to look at shampoos for hard water and have used Ion and Malibu C, but the Ion stripped my hair and the Malibu C is super $$$ and had to be ordered in from the US 🇺🇸. I decided to try this and all I can say is my hair felt moisturized in the shower, didn’t feel stripped, yet felt clean. I followed with a decent conditioner and air dried. For those with high porosity, damaged and dealing with hard water mineral buildup, this is a winner.

Aveeno had been overall good with all their products. I got a sample of this shampoo Apple Cider Vinegar and I compared with others brands that I tried. Cleaning shampoos overall gives my hair some deep cleaning the oils on the hair from other hair products such as hair oils, conditioners, hair mask or leave on hair products which are my favorite especially because I use all of them to treated my bleached colour hair which is pretty dry currently. However, this Aveeno apple cider vinegar I need to wash my hair twice usen double of the amount of shampoo. Potentially this can be for someone which less hair oils or products on it, to get it to do some work on their hair. Unfortunately this is not for me

Great shampoo

This shampoo is brilliant. My oily, sensitive scalp loves this sulphate free formula. It feels clean and calm after use and the shampoo doesn't strip the skin and hair just soothes and cleanses gently and efficiently. I did wonder if the product would smell of vinegar but it doesn't it has a light pleasant fragrance. The shampoo is very thick so you have to take care not to squeeze out more than you need and as long as the hair is thoroughly wet it will lather up beautifully and rinse easily.

Smooth, shiny hair

I have been on the hunt for hair products to make my hair super shiny since I rewatched Friends during lockdown and became preoccupied with the impossibly sleek and shiny look of Jennifer Aniston’s hair. But the thick consistency provided a good lather even in the first cleanse, which I loved. It rinsed out fairly easily, like I mentioned it didn’t make my hair feel like it had been stripped clean when I rinsed. The smell of the shampoo was a surprise too, it didn’t have the harsh acidic smell of vinegar, but a subtle golden delicious apple smell. I didn’t mind the scent at all, it didn’t smell fake and synthetic, it smelled natural and fresh. The best part is the results. After blow drying and straightening my freshly cleaned hair it was so beautifully shiny, it is the best result I have had so far since embarking on my quest for shiny hair. I am so happy with the results I am thinking I will be a repurchaser of this product. It’s definitely cheaper than the serums and masks I have been buying and it does exactly what it says it will.
