I've used this for 3 years now, ignore the 1 star review because that person clearly doesn't know how to work an app. I clear codes, save driving data from all sensors that's put into a PDF file for me, I can display all or specific live data to me in real time from fuel bank trim to intake air temperature. When looking at a code, it tells you what it means and even how to fix it. You do have to pay for the software of each vehicle make but they have to make their money somehow. I'm a Subaru, Honda, and Ford certified mechanic through each of those makes and I think this is a great reader for the price. Again, 3 years, use it almost everyday as well when family and friends need my help with their vehicle, saves so much time and I stand behind this product. Great work

This scan tool has connected to every OBD2 car, truck and van I have tried it on. Probably 50 vehicles or more, both domestic and imports. Much more automatic than more specialized (and expensive) code scanners. No need to select year, make, or model. The device simply begins flashing lights once connected and figures out what the vehicle is on its own. Once the lights start flashing like crazy, it has found the specific protocol and moves onto working like it should. Connecting to a phone or PC is easy as well: it pairs up just like any other bluetooth device. After pairing up the first time, both my android phone and laptop remember the PIN and automatically connect thereafter. Different cars provide more or less raw data, depending on how the ECM in the car is set up, but every car I have troubleshot with this tool has given me oxygen sensor, air/fuel ratio, and speedometer data. I have been able to log fuel economy and fuel trim data for more than a dozen vehicles, allowing me to troubleshoot for dead or slow sensors as well as glitches and other more complicated issues. It is also cool tolog track data and watch fuel economy change with driving habits and traffic. I will be recommending this brand to anyone who might ask me.

Set up was this day 12/14/23.Very easy to setup, just follow the package instructions. Simple to use better than most. For the price you can't beat it. Try it out you'll like it.šš.
Purchasing some of the cheaper BLUE translucent models of Bluetooth scanner adapters proved to be a waste of money and time. While they 'May' technically have the various protocols as outlined in their respective listings, does not mean they work in all cases. Many of these budget adapters are inexpensive clones, that don't have all that is required, to communicate with 'some' of the onboard PCMs. This adapter, even though it is pre-owned, is of very good quality and so far, has worked on the various vehicles I've connected it to. Specifically, the BLUE translucent model mentioned earlier, would not communicate with my 1997 Explorer, nor my 2000 Windstar. Connecting this Tested device, even though used and refurbished, works Great EVERY time. Spend the extra and save the headaches. : )
This device is awesome. I think most people would use this kind of device to read error code etc. For me, I used it to program my 2007 Honda Accord car key chip and it worked perfectly. The design of combining smart phone with Bluetooth connection is smart and convenient. In some ways it is better than a big chuck of device with its own monitor/screen. Most importantly, it is capable of many functions.Lastly, some credits go to the seller: very prompt shipping.
I've had a couple of different ELM 327 based units in the past. I've always had difficulty with certain vehicles not working with the scan tool. The first one I owned worked great with our Subarus, but wouldn't do anything on my Dad's GMC truck. I left it in the car accidentally when we sold one of the Subarus, so I purchased another cheapo one here on eBay to replace it. The cheapo I bought as a replacement would only rarely connect to my phone, and when it did, I received no data since it wasn't connecting to the car's ECU properly. So, I returned it and after a little research ended up buying a BAFX branded one, having heard that they were better built. So, I returned it and after a little research ended up buying a BAFX branded one, having heard that they were better built. I can say without reservation that there is definitely a difference in ELM 327 scan tools from different sellers, and the BAFX model works great. It has been able to connect to every vehicle I've tried so far, including my wife's Subaru, and the Pontiac that I bought to replace my old Subaru. It's nice to have the LEDs on the unit so that you can see what is going on and know definitely if data is being transferred or not. The BAFX units are about twice the price of the cheapo ones I purchased in the past, but it is well worth it because unlike the cheapo units, these will actually work! :-)
This is an amazing value. But some descriptions mention that unit is a AP200 unit +. The AP200 has an immobilized function (which is good for programming key), this unit (the AP2500e) lacks this feature.
When this product works, it is fantastic. It's great at reading codes, the live data is easy to read and export as a PDF when you want to save it, and the diagnostic tools are helpful. This scanner works with the Hyper Tough 200 app on your phone. The app is free and allows use with one vehicle of your choosing without charge. If you want to use it with more vehicles, you have to pay. This wasn't a big issue for me since I only planned on using it with one. What makes this a two-star review is the fact that, for every time you use this tool, it only works correctly about 15% of the time at best. It's incredibly difficult to get it to connect properly, the app frequently crashes, and it can run extremely slowly when it does connect.I don't recommend this product ...Ā MoreWhen this product works, it is fantastic. bought to replace one i got i walmart thinking i would then have two car makers codes available to me (you get one free with purchase) however app says serial numbers dont match so must reinstall app losing previous purchased software. Autel support says one was ht200 other ap200 so wont transfer software for me. use same app so they can they just want me buy again. greedy greedy greedy. takes forever to do anything since it reloads or something every time wont remember vehicle info so have to reienter every time used up 20+ gigabit on my Iphone for some reason and overall very basic and slow obd2 reader wouldnt have purchased if not for thinking i already paid for gmc software codes. hopefully JBtools returns it
