I don't normally do reviews but for this it's worth it.I have tried this out for the last 10days in LanzaroteI can say how comfortable the mouth piece is, I have small adult mouth and a plate in my front teeth, not once did I feel it pull on my teeth, I didn't get jaw ache which I've had with bigger size, I also think it's more flexible, when I'm home I will buy another so I've a spare, I'm really impressed.

I have alway avoided using a snorkel while scuba diving; It's just one more thing to get in the way. I know it's a huge safety advantage in an out of air surface event and an air saver when shore diving with your own tanks but still didn't use one. I then read about the SV2 snorkel and there was one that matched my venom mask color scheme.I went for it and was pleasantly surprised. The quality was apparent and the flexibility kept it in an amicable position. One negative was the mask strap clip. I may be doing it wrong but if you put it around both straps...the adjustment on that side of the mask was inoperable. Thanks again to DRIS for all their help!

The scupper valve works great. If it is completely filled with water a moderate blow will expel water from the top and bottom of the snorkel. With more water inside the tube, it clears easier because of the siphoning action. When a small amount of water enters, it may require 3 blows to get out. The wave guard works good too. In moderately choppy waters, none entered the vent. The ventilation was good too as the bore is wide enough to allow heavy breathing. The snorkel keeper rotates and move up and down. It fits a bit slack on my 'Cressi big eyes evolution crystal' mask, because the straps are not wide enough. The snorkel is also heavy compared to my cressi corsica. My mouth was getting tired and my teeth hurt from biting hard to keep the snorkel in my mouth, as I had to support the weight of the bottom part of the mouthpiece. I could snorkel for over 3 hrs. straight with the cressi corsica with no mouth fatigue. Not a bad snorkel, but for the price, it is the most expensive piece of plastic that I own. This snorkel was designed for scuba divers who need to save oxygen while getting out or back to the boat. The flexible mouthpiece tube was also made to swing away from the mouth and thus accomodate the regulator. It was not designed for snorkelers who require a snorkel with a J support for prolonged use. I would order the Cressi corsica or the Riffe J snorkel next time.

Exceptional quality made snorkel. The Atomic SV2 has a internal check valve toward the top of the tube that makes a big difference in keeping water out.I've had this snorkel in some nasty bone crusher ocean waves. The kind that really try to drown you. If I wasn't so cheap with my gas I would have switched over to my regulator for safety at the surface. The SV2 has always performed without incident and I can continue to be stingy with my gas (especially on deep dives). You will not be disappointed by the SV2.
Snorkel came and was exactly as expected and described on the website. I have only had opportunity to use in pool since receiving but function appears to be perfect. I also purchased the Venom mask and some split fins and all products came quickly and were exactly as expected. Good stuff.
I've had the SV2 for over a year, as a safety feature for dives, and it is the match for my Atomic Aquatics mask. I did my first shore dive recently and was very disappointed at how much water it took in while swimming back to shore. I was forced to be on the surface due to my dive buddy having insufficient weight when his tank ran low. I had water in the snorkel every single breath, and the waves were maybe a foot. It made for a difficult trip to the shallows.
This snorkel is opposite of everything Atomic claims it is. It does very poorly in choppy conditions, is extremely wet and very hard to clear, especially clearing nuisance water. I was looking for a better snorkel. Currently have an old Scuba Pro Shot Gun 2. Twin valve, open top. I tested the two side by side swimming along a choppy, south facing beach. Wind about 15 knots out of the south. I swam 15 minutes east, then 15 minutes west with each snorkel. The Atomic was prone to taking on water in both directions whereas the Scuba Pro was surprisingly dry. It was hard to clear small amounts of water from the Atomic and that needed to be done constantly. The SP clears far more easily and if it does get a bit swamped, because of the SP's simple open top, you can plug it ... MoreThis snorkel is opposite of everything Atomic claims it is. The SP clears far more easily and if it does get a bit swamped, because of the SP's simple open top, you can plug it with your thumb and be dry on the next exhale. You cannot do this with the Atomic due to the design of the top. Which is supposed to help keep it dry, but it fails miserably in this category. The Atomic tends to lay forward on the head so it is never even close to perpendicular to the water meaning you must crane your neck upwards to keep the Atomic out of the water. Put your head down in a neutral position and the next wave is guaranteed to enter. It is really a poor design. I would not recommend it.
I was reluctant to purchase such an expensive snorkel but love love love it. Even on deep surface dives so easy to clear and often while swimming in choppy water it stayed exceptionally dry. This is the only snorkel I've used that didn't leave me with any salt water taste in my mouth. Bonus points for easy to adjust design and pretty colors. My husband loved mine so much I'm buying one for him.
This is the best snorkel i've ever used. Why did I give it a 5 star review? Well I really like this Snorkel although it was difficult to spend the money on this that I did. It was well worth the money, even though I barely use Snorkels anymore, except while teaching. This is light and easy to use especially with the quick detach feature. If you're thinking about this then just buy it!!!
very comfortable snorkel. extremely east to purge and i love the flex tube on it. so many colors to choose from.
