For my light use, I think this chromebook will work perfectly. A bit plastic-y but not flimsy. The keyboard is atrocious. You cannot see the letters when backlit - they blend into the silver colored keys. Once you find where your hands need to be positioned (because every keyboard is a bit different) it isn't such a problem. This had to be obvious to the manufacturer, however. Bad design on that! All the apps I use were downloaded easily - I made sure before buying this Chromebook that my apps could be downloaded on this OS. Very slim - lightweight - and easy to use. I would recommend to friends.

My 13 year-old needed a Chromebook for school. Having seen some of the truly awful models out there, this one had a string of awards and a half decent specification including an intel mobile processor, 8Gb memory and 128Gb storage. So despite the two poor reviews here on Very, we bought one and are so pleased we did. My 13-year old loves it and so do we. A robust, excellent build quality means it will survive the horrors of school, and that HD screen is excellent. Chrome OS is fast and responsive & apps work well. Streaming is also very good - Disney+ and Xbox Cloud have no problems at all. So all in all we're very pleased with this Chromebook and even more so because we picked it up with a voucher so it was an absolute bargain. In fact we've been so impressed, that ... It's a bit glitchy in places and especially on some specific sites. Refuses to co-operate. Otherwise running fine. No problems with cursor or freezing. Doing what it should. Because it is a Chromebook laptop you can't have Microsoft edge on it. There's no delete button. No caps lock function either but caps lock on on-screen keyboard. Copy and paste is a bit of an ordeal and it will not copy and paste photos. Can't choose 'select all'. Have to use mobile for such. It is back lit which is great but would've been better if keyboard had been black so more of a contrast. The on-screen keyboard pops up all the time which is annoying, wish I could choose when it pops up as it pops up in front of where I'm typing at times. But also great to have on-screen keyboard ... I'm sure if you're used to Chromebook the review would be better.

I've used this Chromebook for 3 days now, in both its laptop and tablet modes. Both worked well. Perhaps because I previously used a laptop with 16 gb of RAM and a newer processor, it feels a tad slow at times. My main gripes are two issues: 1) the magnet to hold the lid down is way too strong. I feel that I have to grip the laptop carefully each time I want to open it so I don't accidentally shift it across my desk; if I'm somewhere with a small table or desk, I have to be carefully not to accidentally push it off and damage the laptop. 2) the laptop "unexpectedly" reset when I submitted feedback via the alt-shift-i keyboard shortcut. This happened while I was writing this exact review (feedback to allow a setting where the Chromebook does not automatically turn ... So I bought this Chromebook three weeks ago, and I've been using it every day from around 10 am to 8 pm, mostly to surf the web. And here are the pros and cons so farPros:1- the battery is excellent. I've never had any device that could handle 10 hr+ working on one charge.2- I haven't had any issue with the ram so far, and I usually scrap the web for information so it can easily handle 20 + tabs at the same time3- I switched to a 14" from a 16" laptop, and I can say there isn't that much difference, except its way easier to carry this Chromebook aroundCons:1- It's stupidly hard to open this Chromebook for no apparent reason. I think it was a bet or something between Asus and other companies that they dared Asus to build this Chromebook with extra strong ... I think it was a bet or something between Asus and other companies that they dared Asus to build this Chromebook with extra strong magnets.2- I'm starting to miss Microsoft word; the google docs work fine, but there are some fine page tuning that you can only do on Microsft word3- it's only supported until the end of 2026, so it will be with you only for four years from now3- I bought this in sales, and I thought it was a great deal, but I got an email the day I received it saying it's available on Amazon at 70 CAD cheaper :( I felt like Best Buy tricked me into buying it at a higher price)Finally, don't be fooled by the comments online about the keyboard. You can use alt + light control to change the keyboard backlight. It's a feature, not a defect.Verdict: buy it but look for better offers
It was a rough start. This Chromebook did not support my SmartLock fearure which disappointed me. However, when I seen the Linux features, I smiled. Purchased for study related to IT. It was more than I expected. It has 8GB Ram. It's a beautiful machine to me. Its lightweight and great for lazily doing IT in bed without all the weight. Its 4 way and good for the tablet feature which seems to make it a bit heavier, but no complaints. It packs a punch for sure. I'm satisfied thus far. And it also came with 1 year of accidental damage which is spectacular and makes me quite comfortable with buying other products from them. I am an extended warranty and accidental coverage person. Thanks Asus, you did really good with this. I totally appreciate it.
In the store the man said it's just like my android phone has all the apps etc. It doesn't, as not every company programs for Chromebook, eg itvx is unavailable. I loaded mail app, but you can't distinguish between app and online mail, found it a problem when switching mail addresses. To me Chromebook is probably more of a laptop than a tablet. Probably need to check whether you're looking for more if a tablet or a laptop. As reviewed before by those who have been really pleased with it doing school work etc. Sadly mine is sitting on a shelf, a bit of a white elephant. I continue to use my mobile phone.
Acceptable for ease of use. Have 2 complaints.First is backlit keyboard. Silver keys with white LED backlight make seeing key near impossible for me. Suggest change of color for either keys or backlight.Second is available apps. This is Chromebook and not all apps I used to have are available. Example: Bank App avail. but Credit Card App not. Favorite local news and weather not available.Still feel good product for cost. Both fun and frustrating learning something new.
I have owned Asus Chromebooks in the past, and when I saw the C433 on sale online, I grabbed it. A solid build, comfortable keyboard, and lightweight, this model is a pleasure to work on. While the letters on the keyboard would benefit from being a bit darker, and the backlight for the keyboard could be brighter, I have no other comments about improving upon this model. It's fast, silent (no fan), and the screen is great for the price. The thin bezel gives me a 14" screen in a 13" body, with a good nit number and brightness. I like this computer and am glad I bought it.
This is my first Chromebook. I’ve only been using it for 5-6 weeks so I can’t comment on its durability but it seems to be high quality and has an impressive amount of features for a Chromebook that you can often find on sale for under $300. The rugged aluminum body gives it an high-end look and the 1080p HD touchscreen that folds all the way back to use as a tablet make it an extremely versatile laptop. It has a microSD slot for expanded memory as well as a traditional USB port and two USB-C ports. I really only have a couple of negatives, and they’re minor: First, I wish it had an HDMI port so I wouldn’t have to use one of the USB-C ports to connect my monitor while the other one is being used for power, and secondly the touchscreen is high-gloss so it shows ... All in all I thinks it’s an awesome Chromebook that would be hard to match in this price range.
