These shoes are lovely. I love the look and construction of this shoe, the upper, the foam, the placement of the plate. I had a hard time picking between Edge and Sky, but I tend to increase both cadence and stride length when accelerating so I picked Edge. Just ran an half in these and PR’d. Only issue is the toe box is a little narrow on the lateral side for me. I ordered the same size I wear in the Superblast, which fit me perfectly, and in the Edge, my toes were rubbing a teeny bit and a little raw feeling by the end of the race. No blisters though, and I think half size up would be too big. Going to wear them for my next race next month.

Get a half size up! I’ve been a size 9 in every Asics shoe I’ve worn going back to ~2009 (Nimbus, Cumulus, Kayano, Novablast, DS trainer/racer, Magic Speed). These are the first that have not fit me. The foam feels nice & the width is fine. They even felt roomy near the ball of the foot compared to Vaporfly 2s which I usually race in. But the length is just so short compared to all other Asics I’ve used, with almost no give in the front material. This caused my toes to curl & slam against the front of the toebox while running. I was only able to test them for about 10 miles (hoping they would break-in) before throwing in the towel. Very disappointing after spending this much on them just to be unusable and not returnable. I am absolutely amazed at how perfect this shoe is for not only comfort and light weight, but also for putting the dip of the plate exACTLY where I land. This shoe is easily the most comfortable and effortless marathon pace I’ve ever tried. The only thing close to it for me has been the VaporFly 3, which also made my half marathon PB feel easy somehow. Similar plate shape and placement if I understand it correctly, so that makes sense. I just land right where this plate dips down and it encourages my next step and it pops, with little perceived effort. Ever since rehabbing away chronic knee pain early in my running life, and reading Born to Run, and subsequently wearing Vibram Five Fingers for years, my motto has always been “if you have the choice between two long strides or three short ones, take three”. That has kept me injury free for years, it’s the way I pick up my pace, and it has made me a cadence runner. This is the perfect long distance racer for that kind of runner.
These shoes are light and fast, very comfortable and well-cushioned. The uppers are extremely breathable, and there is a nice rebound from the carbon plate. Runs small; I had to go up a half-size. After getting the correct size, my only real complaint is that the laces are about two inches too short. Not sure whether this was done to save a few grams or to save a few pennies, but at this price point it's pretty irritating that the laces get pulled out of the rear-most eyelets every time you put the shoes on. Not sure yet how durable these shoes will be. Bottom line: this is a very well-engineered shoe with a couple of flaws that should have been fixed before the shoe was marketed.
Great shoe for me. Previous shoe was the edge + and I thought that was a great shoe too.Recently did a race simulation for an upcoming Ironman. So after 160km on the bike, threw these shoes on and started my 30km IM pace run. The shoes felt amazing and so fast, was having to remind myself to hold back at the start of the run. The shoes handled everything well, and while I got sore towards the end, the pace of the shoe allowed me to pick the pace up and finish faster. Averaging 4:45min/km pace the entire run and pushing up to 4:30min/km pace for the last few km’s.Recovery was impressive, while originally sore after that effort. Within four hours I was feeling better, the next day woke up with very little soreness at all and could move very freely
I got the previous METASPEED edge which I loved and I’m pleased to say the Paris series is even better. The upper is very comfortable, soft against your foot but breathable as well. It’s breathable, some uppers in other shoes I feel are to thick and my feet can get very hot, this doesn’t happen with the Edge Paris.The feel under your foot is everything you want in a carbon/race day shoe. The spring you get and cushioning isn't excessive so that you feel unstable or cant push off with power if you need to. The shoe makes me feel confident and relaxed when running.ASICS have made it a very light shoe which i also love without making it look ridiculous or with silly cut outs

It's firm but still very protective and is super responsive, which is what you want/need when going fast.The outsole seems minimal and thin but is strategically laid out to reduce weight while providing all the traction one needs. I haven't tested in rainy/wet conditions but I think it will be fine. On dry surfaces, it was as grippy as I need it to be. Overall, a great racing/speed shoe that's up there with the very best. I was so impressed that I also got the Sky Paris. Will provide a separate review for that later, but I can say that you can't go wrong with either. ASICS really hit it out of the park with the Edge and Sky Paris.
I was amazed by the weight of these shoes. Phenomenal upper and at times I felt like I was running barefoot. However, the shoes didn’t wow me and they required a bit more effort to reach my goal pace but once I got to the race pace they maintained the pace effortlessly.The outsole is incredible and I had no issue with grip on dry or a little bit wet surface. I had no hot spots with laces or anywhere.The shoes also felt a bit unstable on an easier pace but a spot-on race pace.Even though I consider myself a cadence runner I wish I could also try Sky Paris to see which one works better for me.ASICS makes it a bit difficult due to cost and no exchange or return after you wear the shoes outside.Overall, a great shoe and I recommend these to other runners.
