I wanted a well cushioned and comfortable daily trainer for my longer and easy runs. I have been an avid Nike guy for years but they just weren’t doing it for me anymore so I decided to try out the new ASICS Cumulus 25 based on the latest marketing. Boy, am I pleased I did. They’re amazing, best general all round trainers I’ve had! Extremely comfortable upper, plush cushioning, good traction an and they look stylish too. First run was a 12k and they were wonderful. In my opinion, far superior to the Nike Pegasus in fit, comfort, cushioning and performance. which I also considered. I am very pleased and am starting to wonder if ASICS may be the way to go for my tempo training and racing shoes.

These are very comfortable shoes, fit great, zero break in time. Like always with Asics. What held this shoe back from 5 stars is the lacing design. Wish they would have stuck with more of a symmetrical pattern, and the laces are too wide. Do yourself a favor and have a fresh set of flat laces to replace with. They don't stay tied, and it is a problem. I also feel the sole lacks good traction, these are a great recovery shoe, but lack the grip for all day/out and about activity. My pair also arrived with a stitching tear on the inside of the tongue. These dislikes are not the Asics way, have been wearing for over 10 years, and never had these problems with any of their shoes. Hopefully the next gen will smooth these things out.

Hands down the comfiest shoes I’ve ever warn. They’re Comfier than Hokas.Fit: True to size, and they are a bit wide, which is perfect for me. I have semi/wide feet. Too wide for narrow shoes, and too narrow for wide shoes. So if you’re in the middle like myself, these shoes are going to give you an A-Ha moment, like this is how a comfortable shoe should feel.Upper: Thick, some see this as a negative but for me, it’s a positive. The tops of my feet are very sensitive to tight laces and the feeling of constriction that comes with it. But these uppers are thick and I can tie the shoes tight and they didn’t hurt the tops of my feet! I feel so locked down without any pain from the laces. It’s weird, when you walk in them they feel like they’d be slow and clunky because of how soft they are. But once i warmed them up on my run, they felt bouncier and more responsive as my run went on. I’ve never felt so much comfort from a running shoe.

These are my first Asics and I think they are excellent shoes. I also have the Nimbus 25 in the same size. I like both pairs for different reasons.I chose these after trying on many different brands at several different stores. I was specifically looking for something to help with pain in my Achilles tendon. Previously I was wearing zero drop Altra Lone Peaks. Both pairs of Asics have helped with the pain, are true to size and very comfortable. The Nimbus have a nice flat tongue and loops for the strings instead of holes - this makes them very easy to lace up. Just pull on the strings at the top and they tighten up nicely all the way to the bottom holes. The padding in the sole is thick and took a while for me to get used to. They have excellent shock absorption but are a little squishy on the landing. The Cumulus take a little more time to lace up as I have to pull the lower then the middle then the upper strings to get them to conform nicely to my foot, but a of of shoes are like that so it's not a negative - just not as nice as the Nimbus. The padding is excellent. With the Cumulus I get a more solid feeling when I land on the ground - they are not squishy like the Nimbus. The sole is flared a little wider than the Nimbus which may offer a little more lateral stability. Also - my son says they look cooler than the Nimbus! My ideal shoe would be the upper of the Nimbus with the lower of the Cumulus. But if I were to go with just one pair, I would probably choose the Cumulus because I like the more solid feeling when my foot lands on the ground. But if you have injuries or are doing high mileage, the Nimbus might be the better choice. Both are well designed and well made shoes so you can't go wrong with either pair.
I’ve had an issue finding shoes with good padding and support for the entire sole. I’ve tried the boutique brands in this price range and wasn’t satisfied. As soon as I put these on I knew I’d found what I was looking for!! These shoes are incredibly light, the padding is incredibly soft but still provides good feedback and even the tongue is padded and comfortable when the shoes are really cinched up tight! Bonus points for the incredible rainbow coloring. Thank you ASICS, I will be buying another pair to have in my closet for spares.
Recently I just found out that I am a flat-footed supinator based on the footstrike pattern I have in the Superblasts. All this time I thought I was a flat-footed overpronator. No wonder the Kayano platform doesn't agree with me. So I hopped on the Cumulus 25 platform. Man, this shoe is so comfortable. The step-in feel is incredible like I am on a soft mattress. I walk around a lot in the hospital and this shoe alleviated some of my mild plantar fasciitis. I also run 20-30 miles per week training for races. I actually used this as my work and recovery shoe because it is so soft. It is also very stable due to its wide platform. I took it on a 5 mile easy run the first time, and it is a great daily trainer. I recommend this shoe. I wore these for 1 day and the balls of my feet are aching. The toe area is so wide around my foot there is no support. The material is so loose over my foot. The heel has so much cushioning and the front is so hard.I switched to cumulus as they changed the nimbus. Please ASICS go back to the way it was. The updates are so wrong. Do your research and listen to your customers. I want to return these!! I cannot wear them. I have never had foot pain ever. I cant believe every shoe has changed so dramatically. Sales are up guys there was no need to change every single style.
I love my other Asics and decided to give these a try. I do not like the material the outside is made of. It is soft, almost like t-shirt material and it gets a little fuzzy as they wear. The biggest thing I do not like, however, are the shoestrings. I have never had a pair of shoes with such ridiculous strings. They constantly come untied, and I often notice I am running around kicking my laces like a 5-year-old. Could I double knot them? Sure. But I don't have to with any other shoes I own. Will not be buying these again.
After trying countless models of ASICS running shoes, I finally found the right one for me in the Gel-Cumulus 25. These are so comfortable and supportive straight out of the box, just the right amount of soft cushioning without being too soft. Anyone with bad knees or feet problems knows too much cushioning isn’t a good thing, as it leads to some instability. My only issue (and why I marked my review down to four stars) is with the shoelaces. The slick nylon used in the shoelaces make them constantly come untied. Very frustrating and can at times be a little concerning when working out or even just walking. Please fix this issue!!! Other ASICS models have better shoelace material.
Never had a pair of ASICS before. I was recommended the brand and to be sure to choose the gel style. Wow! I have I been missing out all these years. The most comfortable and supportive sneakers I have ever had. I'm 6'4" 250lbs and very active. I have already purchased two more pairs of ASICS. They are a nice true fit, great breathable material, great laces, and feel of quality construction. Not only am I impressed by the shoes, but have to also add that I have never been disappointed by the prices, ease of website use, and the extremely fast and reliable shipping from Altitude Sports. Been using this company for years and will continue for years to come I'm sure. Never a bad experience.
