Have been with Kayanos for 15 years. Buy 4 pairs p/yr. I see people complaining anout the toe box being tighter but I have actually found the forefoot to be extra wide versus previous models. I placed it next to my model 28's and it is visibly wider. The 29 just seems "clunky". Not only in appearance but its feel durning my runs. Gonna try the GT 2000-11. Still an Asics fan but the 29 needs to be slimmed down in the forefoot.
Great fit. Great look. Comfortable feel upon footfall. I’ve recently started Achilles recovery and these shoes have made my ankle and Achilles feel nicely supported and stabilised. Very happy.
I love the shoes. I walk at night and I’ve seen cars come too a dead stop when they see me.I would give this 5 stars if it weren’t for the shoe laces. They are sturdier than the cheap ones on the regular Gel Kayano 29 but they are flat and not round. They come loose and I’m constantly having to retie them.I’ve never had trouble with laces on any other company’s shoes…Anyway they feel great and my feet are always happy when the laces are in place. In the past I’ve had to use inserts in all of my shoes but the Gel Kayono shoes have everything I need built into them.Definitely the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn.
Superb shoe. All the cushioning and bounce of a road shoe with the stability of a trail shoe. Keeps the ankles from rolling and sure footed on uneven ground. A perfect medium for off road trails.
Own a pair of GT 2000s but the Kayano is a flagship shoe for a reason. Walking and running. Day or night. Unbeatable quality and well worth the price (not that it was too high anyway as i got them on sale).
Comfortable fit as always with Gel-Kayanos. Only slight criticism is that the material around the toes scuffs very easily and isn't easy to clean. Alternative would be something less breathable though.
Shoes are otherwise perfect but the shoe laces are too short. Asics is a shoe manufacturer, but not a shoe laces manufacturer what I have noticed. I asked for longer shoe laces from customer service, but they will not provide this as a spear part. They want me to go buy extra longer shoe laces. The picture on the webbsite that shows the shoe laces is misleading. Do not expect to get what the webbsite promises, unfortunately!
