I absolutely love my Apple Watch 8. The screen is a bit bigger than I'm used to since I upgraded from a FitBit, but since it mirrors my iPhone I never miss a message (as long as my phone is nearby) and I love the reminders to move. I've become more motivated to close my rings each day. I would give it 5 Stars, except that the one feature of FitBit that I liked that is not available on Apple is the food tracking. On FitBit you entered your food on the app and it automatically tracked your exercise so you always knew how you were doing on calories in vs. calories out. With the Apple you have to use a 3rd party (I chose MyFitnessPal) app to track food and while the one I use does sync with my watch to track steps, I have to manually enter any additional exercise I do. ... MoreI absolutely love my Apple Watch 8. It's not a deal breaker, but I do wish that Apple Fitness (or Apple Watch) offered the ease of tracking calories in vs. calories out.One of the benefits of the Apple Watch over my Fitbit is that the sleep tracking on Apple is significantly better. Some of the sleep tracking functions that come standard on Apple are only available for premium subscription on Fitbit.Taking all of that into consideration, when I go to replace it - hopefully years from now - I will stick with Apple as the benefits significantly outweigh the drawbacks.

I typically only buy Apple branded watch bands for my AW. I've ventured out in the past with other options, and was always a little disappointed. Typically, Apple has that little bit extra that maybe doesn't quite justify the price, but the attention to detail makes it easier to live with the cost. This is the First non-apple branded watch band I've owned in my six years of AW ownership that wasn't a disappointment. The material used for the lugs and buckle feels very high quality and I'm confident that it will last for years. The band itself feels nice to the touch and isn't irritating on my wrist at all. I really like the elasticity of it as well. Even at the largest size it needs to stretch a bit to fit over my hand and onto my wrist, but it doesn't feel like I'm going to wear it out anytime soon by taking it on and off.My only grievances, and not enough to take off a star, relate to the buckle and the fabric. The fabric on the underside tends to pick up dirt/dust/skin and has a white powdery dusting on it after wearing it, but it cleans off easily so that isn't a big deal.My biggest annoyance is trying to tighten the buckle with one hand. I have the buckle on the inside of my wrist and if the band is too loose to start with, it's a frustrating exercise trying to tighten the thing down. Usually I have to take it off, tighten the buckle off wrist, and then stretch it back onto my wrist. I can then pinch it tighter with one hand. Maybe there's an easier way to do it but with the buckle on the outside it was impossible for me to tighten it down any further while wearing it. That's the only thing that really bothers me about it, but the rest of the strap is quality enough that I can let it slide and learned to live with it.I don't have experience with apple's version of the braided bands, but I can't believe that they're worth more than double the price of this Modal band. The Modal feels high quality to the point that I wouldn't even consider the apple version. Plus this being a once size fits all, even with the annoying buckle, means there's adjustability. Sometimes I want my strap a bit looser or tighter, and that's something you won't get from the "fitted" apple braided bands.Get this, it's a great band that I'll be using for years to come.

I’ve always liked the concept of the Apple solo loop watch band but found its design somewhat flawed. They are not one size fits all, rather, they are fit to your wrist, so you must ensure your wrist measurement is accurate. This Model woven band is a very similar style, but with the added benefit of being one-size-fits-all due to its adjustable band.I think the band looks great, if not a little narrow on my large wrist and 45mm Apple Watch Series 8. The band is elastic, so you can slip it over your wrist and start adjusting its tightness. The metal adjustment clasp doesn’t really feel cheap, and I think it’s a nice touch.I have a handful Nike Sport bands that are silicon, but I don’t always like wearing them and prefer a fabric or at least more breathable band, ... MoreI’ve always liked the concept of the Apple solo loop watch band but found its design somewhat flawed. This thing is fantastic for that reason: it’s a very breathable a lightweight band.If you’re in the market for a good looking, breathable watch band, I would definitely recommend picking this band up, especially if it’s on sale. Compared to how much you’ll pay for a comparable Apple Solo Loop band, this is a no brainer. It’s been my go-to watch band for the last week and I can see it being in my rotation on a regular basis.

This is my wife’s watch - but I bought it and I also own an Apple Watch so I’ll leave this review. I also own a Garmin Fenix 7 solar…but the two watches shouldn’t be compared. If you’re an athlete and all you really care about are athletic measurements and data related to your workouts - the Garmin is what you want. The battery life on the Fenix is ridiculous, too - so if you plan on running Spartan races for a weekend, the Garmin is probably also what you want. All that said, if you need a smartwatch - I’d challenge that there isn’t a better choice than the Apple. Most of what the majority of people will be doing with their watches can be accomplished with the Apple Watch. Chances are you won’t be running races all day every day and you probably won’t be running ... MoreThis is my wife’s watch - but I bought it and I also own an Apple Watch so I’ll leave this review. Most of what the majority of people will be doing with their watches can be accomplished with the Apple Watch. Chances are you won’t be running races all day every day and you probably won’t be running ultra marathons - if you were, you wouldn’t be reading this review. The Apple Watch acts just like a mini version of your iPhone - it shows pics and messages, it controls your Apple TV, you can be all .007 and talk into it, and somehow it always knows when to display my boarding passes. It just works more in everyday life than my Garmin - but I’m good with not having all the features for the most part. If I had to choose between the two watches as an ONLY watch - the Apple Watch would win. Short battery life aside, it’s a fantastic watch and you won’t regret having one on your wrist.
I just purchased a new phone & decided to go the distance (and get the watch!). I purchased the 45mm series 8 (GPS-non cellular) version and love it. I am a gadget person, so it fits right in with my "hobbies".I thought that a smart watch was the last thing I needed, and perhaps is not needed, but I'm sold on its convenience. I don't miss texts, phone calls, and many other notifications that otherwise were not noticed until much later when I picked up my phone! Now, I don't normally carry my phone everywhere, but work from home, so the phone is on my desk. I can be outside or anywhere in the vicinity and it is an extension of the phone. I've even taken calls on it, but I prefer to use the phone for that.I like the fact that you can select many different clock ... MoreI just purchased a new phone & decided to go the distance (and get the watch!). You can also have this particular model's display on all the time, so you don't have to move your arm in a particular way to get it to come on. Also, there are many different bands and watch protectors to change the look and give the watch some protection against scratches & bumps.I've taken this watch in the pool, and in the ocean (snorkeling) with no issues at all. Finally it can "tell you" your O2 and heartbeat levels, track fitness time & steps and more. I have my watch face setup with my shopping list, email, texts, weather and the option to quickly check my calendar. I also setup another face that can be quickly accessed with a swipe to show an alternate set of icons.I definitely recommend this if you have an iPhone. The Apple sales rep at Best Buy was very helpful in assisting me with each model's differences. I chose this over the SE since it has the "always on" feature. I didn't need the Ultra as it was more money and too large for my wrist.Pic of watch is with Spigen bumper and band
I purchased this online through the chat and I wish I had gone to the store to see it first. I have had it maybe a month now. It's very masculine and the magnetic wrist band catches my arm hairs. When I went into the chat and ask questions, the person chatting with me was brief, asked if I wanted this watch, I was unable to switch between the online verizon chat and the pictures of the actual watch, I just thought stainless steel would be the color of the watch band and silver would be the color of the watch, no not at all, the watch band is magnetic metal and the watch itself is heavy and a flat silver, so that was the second thing I didn't care for unless I was a masculine and it's probably more fitting for a masculine person. The first week I got it and wore it everyday, except to charge it but I noticed my arm started to ache, the second week goes by and I notice my arm is really achey, it felt as if someone had hit me in the arm over and over again. I took the watch off for the weekend just to take some of the heavyness from the aching arm. On Monday I noticed my arm wasn't hurting and I thought nothing of it, by Wednesday my arm started hurting again so I took off the watch to see if that was it and by Friday my arm had stopped aching. I had to go buy a bumper for my watch anyway so I picked up a light weight more feminine watch band. I don't wear it as much as I did when I first got it because tho its not as heavy as it was since I took the magnetic band off, my arm is still slightly achey so I don't wear the watch when I sleep anymore, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of why I got it, so I could keep track of stuff regarding my health. It's going to cost money to switch the watch to my husbands phone and then money to switch my old watch back to my phone so it's kind of a waste of money since I am now only wearing it when I leave the house, I havent even had it a month. The shiny excitement has fizzled. Sad.

The Modal Nylon Watch Band is a very nice watch band. I really like the style and it's not one I have tried before. I have really come to dislike the traditional watch band with a clasp, so I am always interested in anything that is kinda different. This watch band is really comfortable and works very well. It is a little stretchy, but not too much. Just enough to be simple to put on, but then also stay in pace firmly without feeling too tight or anything. It is adjustable in addition to being stretchy, so this really makes it easy to find the perfect, comfortable fit. Adjusting is easy, and it seems to stay in place while you are wearing it.
