The one star is not so much for the product, even though it was less than satisfactory. The wheel was a bit scratched up, and it didn't look particularly new. Still, it's refurbished, so a few scratches weren't a terrible thing. \n\nWhat WAS terrible was Pirate's customer service. Instead of being calm, profesional and attentive about my concern, Jim was unprofessional, rude and even wrote that, "my concerns did not make sense." Yeesh. \n\nWhat does not make sense is Jim's nastiness toward his customer. I felt attacked for voicing my concerns about my purchase, instead of listening to and helped. \n\nA rather terrible experience, I recommend buyers steer clear of this seller.

I have owned a regular iPod for several years but was disappointed in the battery live and durability. I researched the "rebuilds" and was intrigued. This item, so far, has addressed all of the weaknesses of the original iPod and greatly improved on the original. After I figured out the item I wanted I then had to decide on the Seller, as this item is available from many different Sellers on eBay. Most of the Sellers are in China and there is a communication problem but this Seller was direct and did not waver when pressed on the design and components. I had problems getting straight or consistent answers from other Sellers but not with this one. I have had the item for a few weeks, I use it every day and so far it is great. I am keeping my old iPod as my home unit and it will be lovingly cared for and never be put into an unsafe environment again. I plan on purchasing a few more of the "Rebuilds" in the future. BTW, this item came from China to Hawaii quicker than many items I purchase from Sellers on the mainland USA. Great item, great Seller, very fast shipping, I will buy from this Seller in the future. An iPod recharged
10 November 2018

I have 2 4 gen IPods both with dying hard drives and one with a dead battery: to repair or replace? 20 gig, to be honest, used to be enough. Not for me. I made the decision to repair later but get a recharged reeingineered pod. I love my 4th generation in white and wont part with it; but the new pod allows me to have my music with me everywhere. And yes 95% of my music collection. Streaming is not for me. The job the supplier has done is utterly amazing, quality awesome (only let down by a shonky copy of apples earphones) but dont let that worry you. An Awesome product that is now making my friends think about going retro! Totally recommend the product and supplier

Apple a day keeps music in play.
3 November 2023

I used to have an Apple i pod same model as the one i bought. I loved the way it worked the large amount of songs it could store. My instrument had over 4000 songs stored. Unfortunitly i damaged it by getting it wet. I started shopping for a replacement and saw the one on Walmart site. Buying it was convenient, quick, easy and reasonably priced. Im back enjoying my music thank you

Best mp3 player, bar none
18 June 2020

second one I've owned, basically because I wanted a dedicated mp3 player and apple made them the best. They shouldn't have discontinued the product because it is so good, so if you can get your hands on one, do it. What separates apple ipod from say, streaming spotify is that A) it has ratings 1-5 stars for songs B) it has smart playlists, which you can create using a wide assortment of criteria and logic, and they update on the fly. This feature is NOT available for any other way of listening to music C) you can import any mp3 or lossless file, including songs you've made yourself or really obscure music that no streaming service has. Plus you can load audiobooks. The 160GB of storage is more than generous and supports my ever-growing music library.

Great storage and dedicated audio player

160GB!!! I have more room than I can imagine. It allows me to put the 1400+ CDs in my collection on it and still have a ton of space left over. I maxed out my old iPod Gen 5 at 60GB and it finally died a horrible death a few weeks ago. Was going to use my Galaxy S4 for music, but found a few issues. One in particular was the fact that audio transfered to the SD card would often become corrupted and either would not play, were put in the unknown catagory even though it had proper ID3 tags, or playback was garbled with jitter and skipped through the track. After reading the forums on this realized that it is not going to be solved any time soon (or Samsung denied that this was an actual problem). I realized that I needed a reliable dedicated music player and the iPod classic fit my needs. It does feel a little cheaper than the old iPod I had (particularly the wheel button), but there is nothing on the market that will give you this amount of storage and ease of use. I am half way though porting my CD collection on to it with about 3000 songs completed. Great to have every album you have/ever wanted at your finger tips. Oh and another thing I noticed is the sound quality is also not as crisp at max volume as my older 5gen iPod. I do notice that at max level when hooked up to my HK stereo in my car that you do get distortion happening. This is not a huge issue as one just needs to lower the volume on the iPod, jack up the tuner volume in the car and take advantage of the amp built into the system (Which is what it is there for) :)

Looked AMAZING ! Plugged it in to completely charge battery, battery indicator was in the same position, BUT thanks to the QuickStart instructions and troubleshooting guide they sent with my purchase it was a quick fix. restart : ) both cables work for charging and syncing my music. Syncing was perfect with I tunes . And sounds amazing in my BOSE

Not a Apple fan yet...
24 July 2019

First Apple product I have owned. Ipod arrived loose in large plastic envelope. No bubble rap & for some reason had a blue protective plastic film on the back, nothing protecting the front. The USB in car charger was (in same 17" X 12" envelope) was in manufactures box & much better protected, though able to rub against iPod! As to use, well still trying to get something loaded on it. Finally gave it to a more Apple savvy friend who is battling with it. Hopefully see it soon. Can only comment about battery life, which stood up to several days of connecting via computers to iTunes, but would have been charging anyway through connecting cable

The Ipod is dead. Long live the Ipod
22 July 2022

Bought this to replace a much loved 6th Gen IPod. It does everything I want. I know most people have music on the move via their smart phone, but there's still a huge need for Ipod type MP3 players for people who want to have control over their music and not be dictated to and told what they like by bogus algorithms. Why would Apple discontinue their iPod range? Could it be because it gives power and control to the user?
