While the standard iPhone 13 (starting at $799) seems to be the best choice for most people, with a terrific balance of size, power, battery life, and price, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is a terrific alternative for heavy users and artists, with its killer cameras and beautiful buttress of a battery. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is, well, max. At 6.3 by 3.1 by 0.3 inches and 8.5 ounces, it's a large, heavy phone that you won't want to use in one hand. That's the price you pay (along with your $1,100) for this kind of battery life. But you're probably used to it already, as it's almost exactly the same size as the 12 Pro Max. It's a little heavier than last year's model, though, which weighed 8.0 ounces. It’s roomy, narrow-bezel screen gets a little bit more real estate from a slightly smaller notch than on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Apple has said in numerous articles- the notch is 20% smaller than before. On the back, the Pro Max's triple-camera system juts out noticeably. I'd smooth it out with a case, although you don't necessarily need one for protection—the phone carries IP68 waterproofing and has Apple's tough "ceramic shield" screen coating. (with a phone this nice I still like to always get a screen protector, they have awesome designs and custom ones for cases sold on castify.com I even found cute little sparkle individual camera lens covers to put on for extra protection (and it's a cute touch! They have tons of colors on Amazon that will work with any Apple 11 up! The 13 Pro Max comes in four colors, including blue, gold, graphite (gray), and silver. The blue is very cool and elegant, as you can see below. CONS- BIG HEAVY Like other phones its size, this is more of a bag phone than a pocket phone. It fits in my coat and jacket pockets, but it'll stick out of most pants pockets but I've noticed over the years so did just about every iPhone from the 6 and up! OVERALL I RECOMMENDED THIS 100% I am an Mac/Apple user is all things from phones, watches, laptops, TVs. You name it if it has an apple on it, it’s definitely in our household!

I am obsessed with my iPhone 13 Pro Max! This was a great upgrade from my iPhone XS. I bought it in November 2021 from an ATT store. I loved the Sierra Blue color, but it wasn’t in stock at the store. ATT shipped it to my house and it was delivered in about two weeks. The first major difference I noticed was the quality of the pictures I took with the camera! They are much more clear and not pixelated. The colors vibrant and details are very sharp and clear. I was very impressed when I took my first picture using this phone. I take a lot of pictures of my pets and the photo quality was wayyyy better than it previously was, especially in the dark or in any poor lighting. Usually the flash causes my pets eyes to appear red, but not with this new camera. The dark mode ... MoreI am obsessed with my iPhone 13 Pro Max! This was a great upgrade from my iPhone XS. Usually the flash causes my pets eyes to appear red, but not with this new camera. The dark mode is absolutely incredible! Obviously I am very impressed with the photo quality of images taken using my iPhone 13 Pro Max, but there are other changes/upgrades I like as well. The processing speed is a lot faster now. My phone charges in at least half the time as it previously did. There have been days where I was on my phone for over 15 hours and the battery didn’t die!! I can say that I definitely appreciated the capability to use the Face ID while wearing a mask during Covid! I highly recommend the iPhone 13 Pro Max!

After upgrading from the 11 Pro Max, I immediately notice an increased responsiveness and color vibrance—attributes in themselves that would be worth considering an upgrade. Apple says it correctly on their site, “A display so responsive, every interaction feels new again.†Additionally, somehow the phone itself is even more beautiful with the square edge stainless steel, taller frame, and smooth ceramic glass. This time around I chose silver, being traditionally a graphite / black subscriber—I’m glad I did. My only drawback here is that the frame is of such a quality that it almost feels buttery, making it nearly impossible to hold with one hand…a case is necessary for grip. My only drawback here is that the frame is of such a quality that it almost feels buttery, making it nearly impossible to hold with one hand…a case is necessary for grip. While I’m still testing the camera, so far I’m pleased with the upgrade from the 11. The tri-camera 2019 model never failed to underperform when compared to Samsung, Google phone, or Blackberry images. The 13 has a noticeable upgrade in richness to what I would consider ‘acceptable’, though Apple is still far from the capabilities I’ve seen on the aforementioned models. Low light photo has improved, but video still looks 5 years behind, pixelated and grainy like an entry-level DSLR. The photographic styles prior to shooting are a game-changer for me. The attribute I disliked most about the iPhone 11 Pro Max camera was the yellowed appearance of shots right off the device; I would forever be decreasing the warmth and filtering important moments. On the 13 you can set a pre-filter, more or less, that eliminates the yellowed look with multiple options. The portrait and cinematic modes can be rewarding, but ultimately the device is using an algorithm to edge detect and I’m not into the fake blurs around people, which is what you would mostly be capturing with the high aperture…lots more work to be done there. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the call quality bump as well. Perhaps that was an update from the 12, but I just exited a loud car and when the other end of my call could not hear me with my Sony XM4s (yes call quality is still trash on their flagship headphone model), switching to the phone directly eliminated all surrounding sound other than my voice—the 11 wasn’t quite that notable in loud environments. As far as pricing is concerned $1099 is the standard these days, so without a price increase I don’t have anything negative to say. To me, the value I get over 2 years from a device worth that pays for itself 20 times over. With Verizon’s trade-in discount my upgrade cost $99 and tax—the decision was clear. FYI: Def don’t need another wall charger after receiving the 20v with the 11...the 30v usb bricks also work…so no worries on the footprint reduction. At this point I have too many white cords as it is and the mag safe adaptation is only $39, which naturally I purchased to maximize the new phone high. I did, however, find it odd that they did not include the upgraded rope wire that came with a new keyboard I purchased…hmm

Converted an Android user to iOS.

What I liked :Fit and finish of the iPhone 13 Pro Max has to be the best on the market as of March 2022. It's not light, and it just feels perfect in my hand. I like the flat edges of this phone, and honestly it just looks really nice compared to some of the iPhones of yore and was enough to convince me to dump my usual choice of going with a Galaxy in favor of something different than the usual. Plus Sierra Blue is really pretty and it reminds me of the Zephyr Blue Metallic paint on the 03-05 Toyota Celica. Kinda wish it came in Midnight Green, that color was so cool. Everything about this phone feels function forward on the outside. The A15 is a really snappy mobile processor, for everything that I do it doesn't even seem to stress the thing, much less clog the ... MoreWhat I liked :Fit and finish of the iPhone 13 Pro Max has to be the best on the market as of March 2022. Everything about this phone feels function forward on the outside. The A15 is a really snappy mobile processor, for everything that I do it doesn't even seem to stress the thing, much less clog the ram up be it 6gb or 8gb depending on what source you ask. For most of us, myself included, it'll take age to slow down this iPhone. The display is nice, 120hz so playing a few mobile games look great on this as well as watching a youtube video or two. Also the battery life on this phone is insane, I am on day two of not having it on the charger and it's hit around 36% and I use this phone for some critical functions of my job (calls, task management, ect) so there has been a consistent load on it outside of when I sleep. AirPlay is awesome by the way, hands down one of my favorite features is being able to quickly and seamlessly slip between my car's stereo and a pair of head phones. Also the speaker quality is pretty dang nice too!The camera might be the next best thing next to the design for the 13 Pro Max. Low light looks pretty good when I take pictures or use it for videos. There are neat short cuts like tap back which I use to turn on the flashlight on the phone, it's not the brightest thing but it does a good enough job. The screen responds nicely and taking videos of my dogs running in slow mo has never been so entertaining, plus the camera taking a mix of photo and video has earned some giggles too. What I hated :So the first thing I am going to get out of the way is that I came from a Galaxy S10+, everyone that I have talked about iOS to has claimed that it is either a different beast altogether (Not really) and that it is more functional than Android by far (I wouldn't agree or disagree with this). Organization is NOT something I would say iOS does well, with Android you have the App drawer, with iOS I have made different folders and prayed that my goldfish like memory wouldn't end with me trying to find one of the many apps I use. Stacks/Widgets aren't bad, but I feel like Android does this better as well. This isn't exactly something I would call bad, but it was enough for me to second guess this phone after a couple of days because my organization of all the apps I use was driving me nuts. For a company that focuses on the idea of things "Just working" I think Apple needs to take a look outside and make some minor tweaks to perfect iOS.I also kind of miss my custom roms for Android as well but anyone with two functioning brain cells knows why Apple doesn't allow that sort of thing. Also 3rd party apps don't always work even if you approve them and for crying out loud allow us to emulate or VM older versions of iOS for older apps that can be found on the App Store! I was looking forward to trying Doom II RPG on this phone but iOS 15 isn't compatible and I am too lazy to find a work around at this time.I really like the way this phone feels in my hand though, and if I had to buy another phone again (please no) I'd stick with the 13 Pro Max cause I like it THAT much.

Don’t even think about it.

With the exception of the cameras, and the battery, i can do much more thing easier on a vintage phone than on this one. Its an overhyped status symbol without any real merit. The only people who are working well are the marketing: they can sell a crp as a wonder. Make people believe as the most advanced phone. Oh, yeah. Do not buy it. Avoid apple as far as you can.

Lots of short comings. Not worth the hype.

For being such a popular phone and brand, they fall short on a lot of easy things. For example your recent photos album, it is sorted from the bottom being the most recent to the top being the oldest, there is no way to change this. Then the keyboard that has no punctuations on it or numbers, instead you must click on 123 to get to anything, this just makes it a lot more complicated and harder to use, get with the program Apple and update your keyboard. Then the Camera, it’s not horrible, but for all the technology that is out there and with Samsung Ultra phones don’t tell me you couldn’t do better. Then there is the feel of the screen, it just feels cheap, I’ve had other phones and Samsung and Sony both feel a lot better to touch and type on than the iPhone. ... MoreFor being such a popular phone and brand, they fall short on a lot of easy things. Also why is there no finger print technology? Facial recognition is not the best, doesn’t work with masks, it’s hard to grow facial hair, shave or wear sunglasses or a hat, because then it’s either really slow to recognize you, or it just doesn’t work at all. Then we have the sound safety feature that tells me I have listened to stuff above average noise level and it turns my earbuds down and won’t allow me to turn them back up for the rest of the day…. I’m sorry but for being a brand new phone is 2022 this phone falls short in a lot of places where it should not.

Open Box, and lots of goodies 😉

When I bought this (open box) iPhone 128GB, I was very hesitant to continue and finalizing the order, wondering what was the condition like, and if the battery was still 100%, among other things, was it dropped, scratches, or treated like second hand garbage.I opened the (original) box, and walaaa, there it was, in all it's glory, an Alpine Green iPhone 13 Pro Max.Checked the speakers, made a couple of calls, took a few pictures, and surfed the internet. All i can say is, wow, for an open box, I'm actually impressively surprised, at the condition, and clarity.I knew if it was beaten up by a previous owner, I would return in a heartbeat, but it was in really nice shape. To be honest, it was in flawless condition, not a mark or scratch on it, and it felt great ... MoreWhen I bought this (open box) iPhone 128GB, I was very hesitant to continue and finalizing the order, wondering what was the condition like, and if the battery was still 100%, among other things, was it dropped, scratches, or treated like second hand garbage.I opened the (original) box, and walaaa, there it was, in all it's glory, an Alpine Green iPhone 13 Pro Max.Checked the speakers, made a couple of calls, took a few pictures, and surfed the internet. All i can say is, wow, for an open box, I'm actually impressively surprised, at the condition, and clarity.I knew if it was beaten up by a previous owner, I would return in a heartbeat, but it was in really nice shape. To be honest, it was in flawless condition, not a mark or scratch on it, and it felt great in my hands. To those who's on the fence about open box items, give it a shot, you'll save $200+ and get a great phone to last a long time.Treat it good, and it will leave you very happy.Take care!

Too Many Issues

I've had this for approximately five weeks and have a number of issues. I have me ringer and alerts volume to the max, but the ringer works as it should, I just can't hear any alerts (email, calendar, texts, voicemail). I have to power off for and power back on to get voicemails to pop up. My screen flashes black. The arrow for back navigation does not work when I'm in apps. I went to BestBuy and they ran a test that indicates the phone passed. Since I was pass 14 days, they couldn't replace and would have to send the phone to Apple. Since I don't have a landline that was not an option. I set up an appointment at Apple and said lets kill two birds with one stone since my Apple 6 watch notifications don't pop up. Apple ran test and they passed. Unfortunately my issues weren't resolved. He told me that my otter box case may be the reason why I can't hear all of my notifications. Mind you the ringer sound loud but all other alerts are mute or extremely low that you have to be holding the phone. The case have openings made to not cover the speakers. It just became one excuse after another. You can't pay for common sense. I reiterated that this was not an issue until recently. Don't waste your money. If my daughters phone hadn't been stolen and thrown in bushes after I tried to retrieve. I would have kept my XR instead of giving her my phone and upgrading. OH yeah, the guy at Apple showed me my phone was purchased 6.6.22, as you can see it was purchased 6.7.22. Just a bunch of inaccurate info all around the board.

Way overpriced!!!

I have always bought low end android phones that were cheap. I figured if I broke $100 phone after a year so what! That is a philosophy I should have stuck with!! I was purchasing my first EV And I thought I would like to have a top tier phone so that it would integrate seamlessly with the car. That is what brought me to buying and iPhone 13 Promax. I believe this was a mistake! I am on Verizon I have 5G ultra wide network yet even in a fairly populated city of 100,000+ I still have hard time getting connected to the Internet and the phone will run very slow at times. This is also true at home with my home Wi-Fi. How can I have full bars 5G ultra wide and still take 30+ seconds to open up eBay or YouTube? The performance is on par or slightly better than cheap ... MoreI have always bought low end android phones that were cheap. I figured if I broke $100 phone after a year so what! The performance is on par or slightly better than cheap $100-$200 android garbage phones but for the $1300 I paid I expect considerably better performance. This iPhone has failed me in that regard. Also when using the speakerphone I often times have to hold it almost as if I’m not on speakerphone and raise my voice in order for anyone to hear me. I get numerous complaints that they can hardly hear me. Again $1300 phone and this is the performance! I guess it’s really awesome that the camera is so good though…. I wish I was a professional videographer or photographer. However I am not, so yes I can take great pictures but it doesn’t negate the fact that the phone doesn’t operate as a phone nor as an Internet surfing device very well. I would have been better off buying a cheap android and a good camera and pocketing the rest of my money. If you read most of the reviews everybody will lean towards the camera and that should’ve been the clue when I was researching it in the first place. Some people will talk about great performance but I don’t see it. A lot of people talk about the 120 Hz but I can’t really see the difference in 120hz and anything slower really. Even a video reviewer shot it on slow motion so you could see how smoother 120 hz was!! So that tells me you’ll never see it unaided!! The phone looks good, it’s iconic the camera is fantastic but it’s just extremely overpriced when I can get everything I need to work at the same speed and I’ll save myself $1100! If you’re looking at reviews because you’re considering an iPhone don’t get hung up on things that don’t really matter and think that the phone is fantastic. When it comes down to it it’s not that great unless you were taking professional photos or videos, or or some kind of weird professional gamer that only games on phones! Please choose wisely!
