(3 Pack) Lion Brand Yarn 551-205 Mandala Ombre Yarn, Tranquil

WalMart online dropped the proverbial ball. The price was outstanding but it was a dead order that went nowhere. I never received ANY of this yarn. I personally went into another store and found two that I took to the check out to buy. I am not going store to store to find items I try to purchase online. I will not only leave Walmart's online shopping but leave WalMart and go find another company who respects my time and eants my consumer dollars. WalMart online should have checked the other Cleveland stores for product another store doesn't have or check the warehouse.

A bit of a rave

Lion Brand Mandala Ombre, from the first time I purchased some, has been my first favourite. It remains so, many years on.I love the way it slides between my fingers as I crochet; and its roving (?) quality is nicely different from the usual plied yarns.I range between Cool, Mantra, Felicity, Chi, Serene and Zen - the other multis are far too bright for me, and that's six colourways I love.For anyone who enjoys self-striping yarn, Lion Brand Mandala Ombre is a little ripper !! :)

Fabulous yarn for weaving! :)

I absolutely LoVe this yarn for weaving! It makes gorgeous shawls and scarves. I've woven several of the different colors and they've all turned out great. One 344-yd skein will make a scarf that finishes at approximately 10%261/4" X 66-67" including fringe (warped at 11" X 75", used as both warp %26 weft). Two skeins will make a shawl that finishes at approximately 18" X 76-77" including fringe (warped at 20.5" X 85-86", used as both warp and weft). I'm also a knitter and need to knit something with this yarn, but can't get past weaving with it since it produces such gorgeous woven items!

Lion Brand Ombre Cake

Nice feel to this yarn, it works like cotton only softer. I'm knitting a sweater in it, and the gradiated ombre effect works out as subtle color blocking or broad subtle stripes. I ordered enough to make a matching hat. Its on the lighter side of worsted weight, Im using a size 7 knitting needle as recommended. I do love the colors this yarn comes in, would buy it again.

Lion Brand Yarn Mandala Ombre Cool Ombre Cake Medi

Was not very pleased with this yarn. What I thought was an Ombre was not. The only part was the one ball you see with the black. Then it was only just a few feet of it and then it went into the light grey. The 2 dark ones was at the very end of the ball. The others had knots and the were tied together. I have to say it is a very soft yarn and parts of it is very pretty. But I was trying to use it on a circle knitting machine but was having a lot of skipped stitches and it would snag on the needles. It may work ok with hand knitting but you would still have to cut it to get any color changing. This could be just a bad ball.

My Very Favorite Yarn

Wow! The first thing a Crocheter like me notices is the texture %26 feel of the yarn. Mandala Yarn (Lion Brand) is Yummy. Soft yet strong. Then I start noticing how well the yarn holds up the hook. A on that. After a while it is time to attach another skein. Will it blend or do I need to pull yard after yard of yarn until I get to the right color? It blends perfectly. I double dog dare you to find where I have left one skein to tie on the next. I have not yet finished the throw I am making for my daughter but I can already tell she will love the weight of it. With a thicker yarn it is easy to wind up with a heavy throw that you can only use for a while before getting Hot! The weight of this yarn will warm you up but slowly %26 not overly hot.

This is 100% acrylic?

This has to be the silkiest acrylic yarn I’ve ever had the pleasure purchasing. I am on the autism spectrum and the way something feels against my skin is important to me. If it’s scratchy I won’t have anything to do with it. This yarn is yummy. I let someone else that is picky about fabric touch it and she was blown away also. The colors are bright and happy (which was the one I got). It doesn’t smell weird like vinegar like some yarns do. I’m going to have to grab some of the other colorways!

Yarners annoyance: colour direction on the skein

I really would have liked to give this a better star rating but I experienced the ultimate frustration for yarners. I purchased a 4 skeins and was glad to see that they all had the same production date and dye lot number but, and this is the major reason for only three stars, one of the skeins was balled the wrong way so in effect the colours came out backwards (I try to work from the inside out). I couldn’t just start from the outside because it was the wrong colour on the outside and I needed to go right through to the middle almost colour! There was also a mismatch join part way through the ball where the light pink was connected to the dark Orange with no light Orange!The yarn looks appealing and appears soft to the touch on the skein but it does have a squeaky ... MoreI really would have liked to give this a better star rating but I experienced the ultimate frustration for yarners. The blanket I have almost made with it feels okay, just okay, but looks fantastic just as I envisioned it would.So disappointing all four skeins weren’t matching I will probably need one more to complete as I have had to cut up this last one to colour match.

[Rewarded Review] Lovely yarn

Self drafted pattern for a shawl. I looked up a bunch of used craft books and made something that I could do everyday being a beginner. I needed more color for my everyday clothes. Super soft texture and this brand washed so well over consecutive washes and dryer runs. I always wash accessories in a bag to prevent harm. The purple color shown is chi. It's not hard to keep a few rolls on hand for more projects. Usually I go to the store to see the item, and then use the app to make purchases when the coupons roll out. It is hard to identify texture online however a store visit prevents a lot of doubt.

[Rewarded Review] My favorite

The mandala ombre has been my favorite yarn for quite a while now. It's soft and squishy, keeps me motivated through large blankets. Occasional knots but not too discouraging considering how many skeins I've bought over the years. I sincerely hope Lion Brand comes out with more colorways because I'm in need of more variety! Photo shows an almost done blanket roughly 54x42 inches using 7 balls. I dispise tying ends so I trial and error figured 24 c2c clusters per side uses one ball with the J hook, fairly loose tension. The photo shows 2 squares, so this blanket will likely end up as 9 balls ending up roughly 58" square. Both examples are c2c jayg following Fiber Spider's guidance on YT.
