The first thing that fascinates me about this watch is just how comfortable it is, which was a surprise for me becouse it's a big, tough and (actually) heavy G-SHOCK. But the fit is fantastic and it looks way better IRL than in photos. It's a perfect outdoor watch, not only for the sensors and functions (compass, thermometer and barometer come very handy for me) but the resin band is designed in a way that allows the skin to breathe and even when you sweat alot your wrist doesn't become too warm or moist and the sweat just pours away. Solar battery was a very important factor for me in choosing this watch; it arrived with a medium charged battery and in less then a week of just wearing it outdoors the battery charged to high - it literaly just charges as you wear ... MoreThe first thing that fascinates me about this watch is just how comfortable it is, which was a surprise for me becouse it's a big, tough and (actually) heavy G-SHOCK. This is a excellent watch. I have a bunch of G-Shocks including the Mudmuster GWG-1000 and I can honestly say this Gulfmaster is better than the Mudmaster. It have more feature than it and it even has a depth sensor that the newest Frogman GWF-D1000 has. It looks more refine too and can be wearn as a dress watch. I will buy this watch again anyday.

I was leaning towards the Suunto Core when I found this Casio. While priced much higher than the Core, the waterproof rating for the Casio was superior, and that made up my mind. I also spent some time reading the user manual prior to purchase. First off, this watch looks GREAT! Large, rugged, and comfortable on the wrist. With analog hands, it's very easy to tell the time. While I'm slightly disappointed with the luminance of the hands in the dark (at this price, tritium markers would be appropriate), the LED makes up for that nicely. This watch is a tool, packed with features. You can set the declination angle for your region so your compass will be accurate. You can set your home city and have Atomic timekeeping. Built in weather warnings, constant tide chart (which is a useless feature if you don't live near the ocean). Solar powered, G Shock. Expensive? Yes. But this watch seems to be a quality tool that should last a lifetime. Spend some time with the manual and get to know how it functions and you will be impressed.

Yeah I know, if it cost too much then why buy it. Well if you want this white version (really its a light grey) then pony up now before its over $1000 USD. I have the black version with a combo bracelet ($250 plus the watch) and its less expensive with arguably more function. But I do like this white version and the digital display has a nice blue tinge to it. Its really nice but I wish it cost the same as the black version :-/
I ride motorcycles all over the US, and backwoods camp doing it. I dont have a smartphone, and most places I travel to have zero cell service anyway. This watch has a compass and barometer. This allows me to monitor the weather and keep my bearings without carrying excess gear. The solar charge and atomic settings keep accurate time without batteries. There are 5 alarms for reminders and waking up. It has an autobacklight that while not as nice as my previous Tritium, works very well. It has auto daylight savings, and is very easy to change timezones with. Basically, it is a damn good tool. Check Nutnfancy on Youtube for a full review, and tutorial on making cheap durable crystal protectors (which my watches sorely need). Bottom line, if you find one at a good price ... MoreI ride motorcycles all over the US, and backwoods camp doing it. This watch is the latest addition to my collection. It is also my favorite! My wrist is 7" in diameter and the watch fits great. Yes, it is definitely bigger than most and I was definitely worried it would look out of place since I'm an average size person but that is not the case at all. My only other worry was the past issue with the hands not returning to their proper position after certain functions. This is an issue that Casio knew about but never really publicly announced. It was widely known in the earlier models of this watch. While there is no concrete evidence that the issue was fixed, Casio was able to fix the issue under warranty to affected watches and return those watches back to their owners. I have had mine for a couple months now and everything works great with absolutely no issues. I did make sure that the watch I purchased was a 2018 model. The features on this watch are not only accurate, they are a lot of fun to use as well. If you are looking for a feature packed watch, this one is hard to beat. It looks great and I have had many people compliment it and want to know more about it. By far my favorite watch in my collection!
I had a times with Altimeter, Compass, Baro, Temperature that I wore for about 2 years and then it went dead on me. I have had a Casio Muslim Prayer Watch for the past 3 years which is still working, and hopefully, the Casio G-Shock GulfMaster will also last for a long time. As the weather changes get more drastic it is a watch that is worth having, especially, in a farm setting. The dark colour is a very elegant watch that can be worn with dress clothes, and is feature-packed and not as gaudy as other G-Shock watches. Considered buying Tissot Touch II for a while but this one surpasses the Tissot in features. Thanks for quick shipping.
I decided to purchase this watch after seeing a review on Ablogtowatch. I have a number of mechanical watches (Patek, Rolex, Omega, Breitling) but have always liked the idea of a watch that is always accurate and never needs to be reset for DST. I have previously owned the G-Shock Gravity Master and also have a Japan Market Casio Oceanus which is a great watch. I have also owned a Frogman but the digital only display made me sell it eventually, I have a strong preference for analogue displays.First impression of the Gulfmaster on unboxing is the obvious use of high quality materials and the sapphire crystal really sets off the clean highly legible dial with its blue and orange accents. The initial sync of the radio signal took about 4 minutes and since then has automatically updated overnight every night. The strap is extremely comfortable and although this is a large watch in terms of diameter, the way the strap and lug system is designed makes it sit really comfortably on the wrist. You will need to spend some time reading the manual and experimenting to make use of the myriad of functions available on this quad sensor watch but once you get familiar with it they are really intuitive. One button to access the 'computer' functions like stopwatch, sunrise and set, countdown timer etc, a second button to access the sensor data such as barometric pressure, temperature, depth gauge and altitude, and one button to vary the default information displayed in the digital display. In addition to this the 'intelligent crown' is mainly used to adjust default settings such as units of measure, backlight functionality etc. Just mentioning the backlight, there are two LEDs which light the display and the dial and work really well. As such the fact that the lume on the hands and indices is average is not a problem. The fixed bezel on the watch is marked for use in conjunction with the barometric pressure function and as such is different to the normal run of the mill dive watch. Having said that the watch is focused on maritime use (above water!) so that makes sense, and how many people use the rotating bezel on a dive watch anyway? At the moment I'm not seeing any downsides to this watch, other than it would have been great to include GPS functionality like the Gravity Master. This lack of function will only really affect those who travel to areas not covered by the 6 Band radio receiver, for European users this will be southern Spain and Eastern Europe.Overall this is a very high quality watch which is great value for money and for me it is the pick of the current G-Shock range other than the MRG 1000 which is currently almost four times the price.
I have recently received my new Casio Gulfmaster GWN Q1000 1AER.I was looking for a great everyday watch that can be used anywhere and the Gulfmaster definitely ticks all the boxes (quad sensor, dual lights, waterproof 200m, solar powered, etc, etc.).The watch itself is a great size on my wrist without feeling heavy and I think it won't take long to forget I'm even wearing it. Dials are easy to see and the functions, of which there are many, are easily accessed. All in all a great looking watch with so many useful functions (especially if you enjoy the water, boating, diving, etc.) and available at a good price. Glad I bought it.
G Shock Gulfmans have been around for decades, however in 2017, G Shock introduced the Gulfmaster Quad Sensor - Wow! was my first impression: I watched many many gleeful users and owners testing their new pieces out up mountains in lakes, rivers and swimming pools - with increase captivation and desire. I finally had enough info and added a Casio GWN-Q1000MC to my collection. This is a really cool watch from Casio it is noticeable on the wrist without being oversized. The all black decor hides and baffles the casual observer; hiding the plethora of functions this thing has onboard. The Gulfmaster is great for the outdoors and maybe you can get away with it at a casual dinner party.
