[Tapo L530B] Smart Wi-Fi Light Bulb, Bayonet Fitting, Multicolour 60W

I have just setup my first ever Tapo L530B smart bulb bought today, to find it doesn't have any multi colour mode options present on the Tapo app.In "device info' it's saying it's a "L510 series" don't know if this is normal or not? I have checked the packaging and bulb which identify the model as "L530B" which is supposed to be the multicolour variant that was purchased.Waiting a few days for a reply form TP Link tech support for a solution (which from experience won't eventuate) before returning this product for credit and keeping a wide berth from cheap TP Link gear for the foreseeable future.2 stars because it works like a Tapo L510B but that's not what was purchased.

Absolute waste of money

Seems to be the only bulb that won't work with other apps. Their own app doesn't allow you to add devices from other brands. There's no widget for the app for quick functions. Easily my most regretted purchase this year. Utterly frustrated and disappointed.

Good value

Solid multicolour bulb with good range of automation options. Only struggle is that’s it’s not totally friendly when main switch is used to turn it off/on. Still pretty good though, especially for the price.

Not very good

Not the most easy set up for a smart product. Lights also don't turn off fully and will still have a fun glow or flicker after being turned off. None of this is consistent and is always different LED's everytime.

Pleased with this colour changing light

A great light for all occasions including having the party function on with changing colours..the grandkids loved it.It dimms and changes colour easy.I just say ALEXA turn light on and your off.But would have liked it a little brighter, say equivalent to a 100 watt bulb, this one is 60 watt.

TP link multicolour bulb

As I already have the TP-link camera system I decided to have the light bulb to be controlled by my phone. I decided on the multicoloured bulb so that it was able to give me a mood option..I enjoy the blue colour as its calming. I have put them in several places including the bedrooms. Being on the system with my phone it's so easy to put them on and off at will . The cost seems high until you see that normal bulbs are now as expensive and prone to failing. The whole TP system is a real pleasure to have and use from one place... your phone .. With camera alerts and the lightning features you not only feel safe but now you can fully control what lightning you want in any of your rooms.. look out for offers on these products at your local toolstation or screwfix ... MoreAs I already have the TP-link camera system I decided to have the light bulb to be controlled by my phone. TP-Link Tapo L530B Multicolour Bulb

So pleased I bought these! Quick & easy to install, can use the existing wall light switch to turn on/off, or leave wall turned on & use my phone to turn on/off.Range of colours including white; timers and settings are great. Sunrise/sunset or set time options e.g. I've auto set:- light comes on at sunrise, white colour, turns off after 30 mins."Go to bed" one button option turns off light after a set period. Both settings current on same bulb.Have other brand white smart bulbs installed, but their colour bulbs were mostly out of stock and too expensive where available. These stack up very well against them, at a good price.I recommend these bulbs.

Very easy to use

No idea why the other review is complaining about the Kasa app, this is a Tapo device. Firmware updates are quick and rare, and it doesn't rely on bluetooth, so the bulbs are rarely out of action. Very responsive and reliable, I've had one for about a year now and it has never dropped its connection. Works well with Google Home. Only con I can think of is that it's really difficult to get the white temperature to an even number, it increments by 5, idk why there aren't any up/down buttons.

Will really annoy you

• Purchased as I have other TP-Link products• Regret purchasing this light• It turns on by itself (including middle of the night when you're trying to sleep)• The bulb gets really hot• Not worth the hassle

pointless light bulbs

they only lasted 1 month then started playing up, the lights only work on your phone, if u try to use the normal wall switch it does'nt work. You have to use either only your phone or the switch can't use them both interchangably. pointless
